Just like in the United States, November proved to be a successful month for Switch in Canada. Data from the NPD Group reveals that the system’s sales came in at 148,000 units during the month. Switch has been the best-selling console in Canada for 25 consecutive months.

This year, Switch has sold 790,000 units in Canada so far. The system surpassed in eleven months the total number of systems sold in all of 2019 by over 162,000 units.

When Sephiroth was announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate last week, a December release was already confirmed. Now, however, we have an actual date. The character will drop on December 22, director Masahiro Sakurai revealed during a presentation today.

Sephiroth will be more than just a roster addition. The character comes with a new Northern Cave stage, music, and spirits to fight.

Overwatch is ending 2020 with a Winter Wonderland 2020 event. Players can expect a new mode, cosmetics, and weekly challenges.

Grindstone physical

Grindstone is dropping on the Switch eShop today, but a physical version has now been confirmed as well. iam8bit and Capybara are teaming up on the boxed version, which comes with an exclusive set of custom creep-gut-colored crayons. Sam Webster’s original music for Grindstone is also being released as a double LP, featuring original artwork by Nuri Durr.

Both will begin to ship in 2021. Pre-orders are already open here.

PowerA is commemorating the news of Super Meat Boy Forever on Switch with a limited run of an officially licensed enhanced wireless controller. Pre-orders will be opening tomorrow for $49.99 / £39.99 / €49.99.

Super Meat Boy comes to Switch on December 23.

Tennis World Tour 2

Nacon and Big Ant Studios have prepared a new update for the Switch version of Tennis World Tour 2. It comes with some adjustments, additions, and improvements.

How would you feel about receiving a new Switch system, only to discover that it’s actually broken? Unfortunately, that exact scenario is taking place in Japan.

Nintendo has acknowledged that some new Switch owners are unable to use the system. During the initial setup, the error code 2162-0002 is displayed, and there’s nothing else that can be done. It’s essentially a defective device.


Ghostrunner

The team behind Ghostrunner today announced a couple of updates for Ghostrunner. In addition to the free Hardcore Mode, players will be able to purchase the cosmetic Winter Pack.

Hardcore Mode lets players take on the new challenging of climbing Dharma Tower. Meanwhile, the Winter Pack DLC includes the Cold Snap Katana and matching crimson Cold Blood Glove.
