The Outer Worlds - Peril on Gorgon

Private Division and Obsidian Entertainment have debuted the first gameplay from The Outer Worlds’ Peril on Gorgon DLC with director Carrie Patel. Give it a look below.

The Outer Worlds is currently available on Switch. Peril on Gorgon has not yet received a confirmed release window on the platform, however.

Astral Chain

Astral Chain is officially one year old. Nintendo and PlatinumGames launched the Switch title on August 30, 2019.

PlatinumGames is celebrating the milestone, which includes special art from concept artist Yuki Suda and scenario writer Akiteru Naka. The team also had some rather nice-looking cake prepared.

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2

Earlier this week, SEGA unveiled Puyo Puyo Tetris 2. You can learn all about the game here. We also have a look at the boxart above.

If you’re interested in Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, you can pre-order it on Amazon here or GameStop here. It’s confirmed to cost $39.99 – just like the original. Remember that with the Launch Edition, you’ll be getting a pack of rare Item Cards, including three special cards featuring items from the Sonic the Hedgehog series.

Iris.Fall

An eShop listing reveals the final release date for Iris.Fall, a puzzle adventure game coming from PM Studios and Next Studios. At least as far as the digital version is concerned, we should be seeing it on September 15.

Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory

Listings on the eShops provide file sizes for a bunch of Switch games. These include Jurassic World Evolution: Complete Edition, Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend, and more.

Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time

Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time ties into the TV show in a big way. It certainly helps that Genndy Tartakovsky and Darrick Bachman, the show’s creator and writer respectively, were on board during development. Interestingly, an alternate ending was recently been discovered Battle Through Time that offers a different take on what could have served as the series’ finale.

Spoilers proceed from here out regarding both the show and game. Keep that in mind before continuing on below.

Paper Mario: The Origami King

There’s been a lot of talk regarding the direction of the Paper Mario series as of late. One comment that recently made the rounds came from producer Kensuke Tanabe, who said that the team is no longer able to “modify Mario characters or to create original characters that touch on the Mario universe.” Although that is a notable restriction, it sounds like they have a significant amount of creative control otherwise.

Speaking with Eurogamer Germany, Tanabe said the team has had “almost complete control over the creative direction of the game” going back to Paper Mario: Color Splash. It also sounds like Shigeru Miyamoto is not really involved at this point.

According to Tanabe, which we’ve translated as follows:

Another Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase is in the books. After the first presentation of its kind in July, it only took about a month for the next one. Also, as far as actual content and new announcements are concerned, there was noticeably more this time around.

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend, Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythmic Adventure Pack, World of Tanks Blitz, Rig Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions, and Just Dance 2021 were the new announcements.
