Nintendo has announced the next Spirit Board event for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The theme this time is “Now You’re Playing With Spirit Power!”, featuring icons from the NES, Famicom, and Famicom Disk System. While active, such spirits will show up more regularly and you’ll earn more rewards.

The upcoming event kicks off on January 4. It’ll last for three days.

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition

Bandai Namco has put out a set of character trailers for Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition. View videos featuring Yuri Lowell, Repede, Karol Capel, and Rita below.

Since 2018 is over and done with, we have new data from Amazon revealing the best-selling video games of the year.

A number of Nintendo titles made the list, including Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at #1. Super Mario Party, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey, Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu, and Zelda: Breath of the Wild are the other highlights.

Pokemon made its proper debut on Switch last month with the two Let’s Go games. Traditionally a handheld-focused series, the franchise finally had a mainline entry on a console.

Pokemon president Tsunekazu Ishihara spoke about this in an interview with Dime. He pointed out that Switch has a few different playstyles, causing it “harder to make a new mainline Pokemon game than I had originally thought.”

It’s time for the latest Famitsu’s most wanted games chart. Animal Crossing holds on as the top Nintendo titles, and we also have our first sighting for Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition on Switch.

Truberbrook boxart

Retailer listings have revealed that Truberbrook will be receiving a physical release. Headup is publishing, though Merge Games will be distributing the retail copies.

Fortunately, the physical release won’t be limited to just one region. Amazon and GameStop confirm the news for North America while Amazon UK also has a listing. The retailers list tentative dates of March 19 and March 15.

Dead Cells has been one of the most successful indie games of 2018. But if you thought that Motion Twin would rest on its laurels, think again.

Speaking with Game Informer, designer Sébastien Bénard indicated that a sequel to Dead Cells is unlikely. Bénard indicated that the team wants to try new things. For Motion Twin’s next project, you probably shouldn’t expect a platformer or a roguelike.
