Switch

Since the Switch’s launch two years ago, a few companies have become associated with porting games to the system. One such example is Virtuos. Virtuos has helped bring over L.A. Noire, Dark Souls Remastered, Starlink: Battle for Atlas, and more.

Speaking with EDGE last month, Virtuos Shanghai general manager Elijah Freeman said that the studio’s games have done “exceptionally well” – not only critically, but also commercially. Freeman added that the success has led to more opportunities, and believes things will pick up even more after Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster launch on Switch.

A physical version of Redeemer: Enhanced Edition was announced for Switch last month. Now thanks to Amazon UK we have a look at the boxart. Check out the packaging image above.

Redeemer: Enhanced Edition can be pre-ordered on Amazon UK here.

Final Fantasy X HD Remaster recently launched in Japan, with the overseas release taking place at the start of next week. Get a look at a bunch of footage from the classic RPG running on Switch below.

God Eater 3

God Eater 3 producer Yuya Tomiyama sounded up for a Switch port when asked about the possibility earlier this year. Just a few days ago, Bandai Namco announced that the game will indeed be brought to Switch.

Tomiyama spoke about the news in a Japanese blog post on the official God Eater 3 site this week. Speaking about why a Switch version made sense, he said:

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen

Every couple of months, a Switch game comes along that rekindles the giddy excitement you initially felt when you first docked and undocked your Switch. At launch, it was Zelda. In March 2017 it kicked the doors open with the force of a thousand Lynels, and it was difficult to deny the physical urge to raise your eyebrows in surprise and delight when the rolling fields of Hyrule instantly transitioned from your TV to a tablet in your hand. Since then we’ve had numerous titles with incredible scope ported to the Switch, maintaining that excitement as you repeatedly slide your Switch in and out of the dock in shock and amazement whilst muttering “can’t do this on Xbox” over and over again.

UK retailer GAME is listing the Saints Row: The Third – The Full Package Deluxe Pack for Switch. Copies include the game, game case sleeve, double-sided alternate inlay, sticker sheet, thumb grips, double-sided lithographs, microfiber screen cloth, and a poster.

Pricing is set at £34.99. Pre-orders are now open at GAME here. At least for now, no other retailer is listing this version of the release.

Thanks to JPSWITCHMANIA for the tip.

Is Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution getting a physical release? Play-Asia seems to think so. The retailer put up a page for the game earlier this week, and is now taking pre-orders for a boxed European copy here.

Despite the Play-Asia listing, we do have to take this with a salt for the time being – which is why we’re marking our post as a rumor. What gives us pause in particular is that Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution will be digital-only in Japan. It’s certainly possible that Konami could have different plans for the west, but we’ll have to wait and see how things pan out in the future.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot recently stopped by the IGN Unfiltered podcast to talk about his career, the company and its various games, and more. For a few minutes, the crossover Switch game Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was discussed.

Guillemot first shared the following about the origins of the project:

This week’s episode of Nintendo Minute has gone live. In today’s video, Kit and Krysta show off exclusive footage from SteamWorld Quest. Check out the full episode below.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was only just announced for Switch a couple of months ago, but it already landed on the eShop this week. Digital Foundry has taken a closer look at the impressive port as part of a new analysis.

Compared to other versions, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice takes a biggest hit on Switch when it comes to resolution. When docked, the game employs a dynamic resolution that has a maximum of 720p and a minimum of around 576p. The same 720p floor applies to portable mode, though it can dip to 400p. Things can look blurry from time to time, but anti-aliasing improves the visuals.
