SteamWorld Dig 2

A physical version of SteamWorld Dig 2 was announced a few months ago. Later, at the end of March, distributor Rising Star Games confirmed a release date of May 22 stateside. We’re past that date now, but you still can’t actually purchase SteamWorld Dig 2 at retail.

SteamWorld Dig 2 has unfortunately been hit with a delay in North America. While retailers have been hinting at it, Rising Star announced a new date of June 19.

As for Europe, there were no delays. SteamWorld Dig 2 released there on April 27 and remains available.

Nintendo is now selling Switch systems without a dock in Japan. As was announced earlier in the week, the company is looking to sell additional units to households that already have a system. The package has the main system, Joy-Con controllers, and Joy-Con wrist straps. It lacks the dock, Joy-Con grip, AC adapter, or HDMI cable.

If you were hoping that the same dockless option would be extended to other regions, you might be out of luck. Nintendo has said in a statement that the company has “no plans to release this configuration in the Americas.”

In Japan, the new Switch package is being sold for 24,980. The primary, original configuration costs 29,980 yen.

The two developers indicated that expanding the series to the Switch is being considered. Minami is a gamer above all, and would like a release on the console, so he is talking with Futami and others among his superiors at the moment. It may take some time, but he’s giving it some positive thought.
