Switch

The Switch eShop has updated with a listing for R.B.I. Baseball 17. It’s due out very soon, as it’s planned for September 5.

R.B.I. Baseball 17 will be sold physically, but also as a digital download. The latter option will require 3.1GB of free space.

The eShop also lists supported controllers. You should be able to use the Joy-Con or the Pro Controller in docked mode. Also noted is the ability to pop off the Joy-Con and play with a friend, which makes it sound like the split Joy-Con setup is supported.

WWE 2K18

2K Sports updated its announcement page for WWE 2K18 on Switch with an interesting note. It now states, “The Nintendo Switch version of WWE 2K18 will support 6 characters onscreen at once.” Reader Mike tells us that other versions of WWE 2K18 will feature eight characters on-screen at once.

It’s unclear if WWE 2K18 will differ on Switch in any other way. 2K Sports has promised the inclusion of new features, the MyPlayer mode, and the new Custom Match option.

Best Buy is the home of the Nintendo World Championships 2017 qualifiers. Over the next few weeks, select stores across the United States will host the events, giving gamers a chance to make it to the big tournament in New York this October.

There will be more to the qualifiers than simply securing a spot in the Nintendo World Championships, however. Nintendo already announced that Super Mario Odyssey and Metroid: Samus Returns will be playable. Best Buy is planning a few other things as well.

Today, 2K shard new in-game soundtrack details for WWE 2K18. WWE Superstar and global icon Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been brought on board as an executive producer for the soundtrack.

The following songs have been confirmed:

A few weeks back, Nintendo sent out a notice to Switch owners asking them if a hot dog is a sandwich. The results were published yesterday. 54 percent of respondees said that hot dogs are sandwiches. The other 46 percent disagreed.

Super Mario Odyssey director Yoshiaki Koizumi weighed in on the subject during a Reddit AMA a couple of months ago. He personally does not believe that a hot dog counts as a sandwich.

This whole thing is a bit silly, we admit. But it’s a somewhat interesting use of the Switch’s news feature. Nintendo added in options to send feedback with “Great” or “Oh” options following a firmware update, and we’re sort of seeing it be put to use now.
