Nintendo kicked off Switch’s launch with a bang thanks to Zelda: Breath of the Wild. If that wasn’t enough, Super Mario Odyssey has arrived just in time for the holidays. These two games have helped made Switch’s first year very special.

Reggie spoke about having Zelda and Mario ready early on for Switch in an interview with TechCrunch. He noted that Nintendo was lucky in terms of the development schedule, with a game like Breath of the Wild being far along in development.

Reggie said:

After the latest Nintendo Direct, a demo for Project Octopath Traveler went up on the Switch eShop. Square Enix then asked those who played the trial to provide feedback in a survey.

A Switch news notice went out this week with interim results for the survey. It will be open for one more week. Since the notice was sent on the Japanese channel, we assume that the early results are based on responses from Japan, but that’s not officially confirmed.

In any case, the notice has the following results:

The physical version of Rime for Switch is seeing a tiny delay. It’s now planned for November 17, the same day as the European release. Note that the digital version is unaffected and remains on track for November 14.

In its announcement, the Rime team cited “unforeseen production delays in Japan”. This was partially due to Typhoon Lan.

Amazon added in a listing this week for a new officially-licensed Super Mario Odyssey Accessory Set for Switch. It includes a soft pouch, game card case with carabiner, silicone Joy-Con grips, and analog caps.

Amazon is taking pre-orders for the set here. It’s tentatively slated for November 27.

Super Mario Odyssey has only been around for a day or so, but we imagine that many of you have picked the game up already. We’re also sure that many of you have played it extensively as well.

The latest issue of Famitsu has shared a listing of the top 30 best-selling games in Japan for the month of September 2017. You can check out the full results below.

Switch has done very well this year in many parts of the world. That includes Canada, where the system has sold 209,000 units. Switch has been the top-selling console in the country this year.

Nintendo held a 73 percent share of console sales in Canada last month. During September, the company sold 115,000 units between the Switch, 3DS, and SNES Classic.
