It’s with a heavy heart that we report Rieko Kodama, a well-known developer at SEGA, has passed away. The news was confirmed by Yosuke Oskunari – a producer at the company – though details regarding her death are not known at this time.

Kodama spent her entire gaming career at SEGA having worked there for well over thirty years. After joining as a graphic designer in 1984, she served many different roles and was involved with a ton of different titles. Phantasy Star, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Skies of Arcadia are just a few of the many games Kodama had a hand in. It’s also worth noting that she was the lead producer on the SEGA Ages series for Switch.

Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has said that he’d “love” to see Call of Duty on Switch.

Spencer’s comments came about during a Wall Street Journal event earlier today. He touched on a variety of topics, including Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns will have a good amount of characters in the base game, but even more are planned via the game’s DLC season pass. It was revealed today that Deadpool, Venom, Morbius, and Storm will all be added to the title.

These four characters will be offered in DLC packs. Each pack also contains new story missions, a new upgrade for the Abbey, and a selection of new skins and outfits.

Wide Right Interactive has come out with another update for RiffTrax: The Game, and version 1.6.0 is available.

The highlight this time around is the addition of several new clips. A number of bugs have been fixed as well.

Lunistice, the 3D platformer from Deck13 and A Grumpy Fox, has received a final release date on Switch. The two sides announced today that the title is arriving on November 10, 2022.

You may recall that Lunistice was previously planned for September. However, the extra time was used for finetuning. Additionally, two guest characters from the Toree series and Holomento will be appearing thanks to the extended development.

A new Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 update has just gone live, with Inti Creates issuing version 1.3.0.

The big addition here is the inclusion of a new boss battle, “‘The Third Revenger’ Nova”. Inti Creates also included a couple of adjustments and a ton of fixes.

Microids and Eden Games shared the latest on Smurfs Kart today, and we have news about the game’s Super Powers. The latest details have been released alongside a new trailer.

Here’s the full rundown from Microids:

McPixel 3, “a mind-blowing save-the-day adventure”, has been announced for Switch. Publisher Devolver Digital and developer Sos Sosowski confirmed today that the title launches on November 14, 2022.

McPixel came out in 2012, but never appeared on Switch. Devolver Digital and Sosowski also ended up going straight to McPixel 3 rather than McPixel 2.
