Publisher Ratalaika Games, in collaboration with developer Woblyware, has announced that Royal Frontier will soon be arriving on Switch. The roguelite styled, turned-based strategic adventure is on track for a March 18, 2022 launch.

Today, Merge Games announced that it’s partnering with developer RainyGames to publish the narrative-driven farming and life sim SunnySide. It will launch for Switch later in 2022.

SunnySide is described as an “open world farming JRPG with deep social sim aspects.” Players will be attempting “to bridge the gap between traditional practices and modern influences as they find harmony in the Japanese countryside.” Building relationships with locals is another aspect of the game.

Oink Games has announced that a new update will be made available for Let’s Play! Oink Games on March 17, with “This Face, That Face” being added. Improvements to the matching system have also been implemented – now if a room has empty player slots, you can enter a room mid-game and wait to join while spectating.

Metacritic published its game publisher rankings for 2021, and it includes some interesting news about Nintendo.

Developer Overhype Studios has announced that free DLC for turn-based tactical RPG Battle Brothers is coming soon, in thanks for six years of support from its community. The game was released on Switch last year.

After two years of running online-only events due to the coronavirus pandemic, Gamescom will return to the Cologne exhibition halls from 24 – 28 August this year, show organizers have announced today. The in-person event will incorporate additional safety measures such as improved admission management, digital queue management, extra-wide aisles, and limited ticket allotments to ensure the safety of participants.

The event will also continue to be held online for those who are unable to attend, and shows including Gamescom: Opening Night Live, Gamescom studios, and Gamescom: Awesome Indies will be streamed on numerous channels in addition to having a live audience on-site. For those participating online there will be Interactive Quests on the Gamescom Now website, with rewards for completion from key supporters, although further details regarding this online component have not yet been provided.
