We originally heard about a second season for The Darkside Detective after it was funded on Kickstarter in late 2018. At the time, we thought we’d be seeing it on Switch towards the start of 2020. That didn’t happen in the end, but we do have an update on the project.

Akupara Games has announced that it has partnered with developer Spooky Doorway on The Darkside Detective: Season 2. The release window also shifted to 2021.

It’s often difficult to tell how much truth a rumor has, but when it comes to Nintendo this year, Venturebeat’s Jeff Grubb has been pretty spot on. Grubb had the early word on a March Nintendo Direct and Apex Legends Switch port for example.

A new tweet from Grubb now suggests that a Nintendo presentation could be coming between August 11 and August 22. Whether that’s a Nintendo Direct, indie-focused event, or something else entirely isn’t known. Going off of Grub’s tweet though, we could be seeing something as early as next week.

[Review] Skully

System: Switch
Release date: August 4, 2020
Developer: Finish Line Games
Publisher: Modus Games

Skully is a 3D platformer that struggles to get the ball rolling on Switch. It might remind Nintendo fans of early N64 platformers that experimented with what the genre could be. Skully keeps things simple but introduces a few new ideas that make it stand out from the platforming crowd. Unfortunately for Switch players, it looks like it belongs on the N64, too. Skully is a perfectly enjoyable little game with appealing art direction and some inventive mechanics, but it’s let down by an extremely lackluster Switch port.

The Platinum Showcase started Aug. 3, 11 PM PT. A wind-attuned 5★ adventurer is guaranteed to appear as the tenth summon in your tenfold summon. It is worth noting that like always, this Platinum Showcase will require paid currency to summon on, and has a maximum of two pulls per player.

Additionally, The Wind Focus summon showcase also began this evening. Only wind-attuned adventurers and dragons will appear in this summon showcase. This is the perfect time to chase after any wind-attuned team members you haven’t obtained yet.
