During its E3 press conference, Square Enix announced a remastered version of Final Fantasy VIII, which is due to be released sometime this year. The remaster technically isn’t being handled by Square Enix however – Dotemu are the ones developing the remaster. Dotemu specialize in bringing retro games to modern platforms; some of their most recent works include Windjammers 1 and 2, Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap and Streets of Rage 4.
A new set of quests have been added to Fire Emblem Heroes. As the name implies, the Sword Art quests require you to defeat a variety of enemies using a sword-wielding Hero. The rewards include orbs, crystals, arena medals and stamina potions. The quests will be available until June 28.
The latest Fire Emblem: Three Houses character to be introduced via the game’s official Twitter account is Marianne of the Golden Deer. She’s the foster daughter of Duke Edmund, the lord of a distant territory in the Leicester Alliance. She keeps to herself most of the time and doesn’t talk much – as such, there are many in the academy who’ve never even heard her voice before. She prefers the company of birds and other animals; she even talks to them and opens up to them. She’s also very religious and can be seen praying every day. She is voiced by Sawako Hata.
Here’s a brief clip of Marianne talking to Byleth, saying that she thinks she’s not suited for the upcoming combat mission and prefers to be left out:
