We’ve known for a while now that WWE 2K19 wouldn’t be coming to Switch, but an official statement has come out from Take-Two giving a little bit of reasoning behind this decision:
“The game will not be available on Nintendo Switch. 2K is focused on making the best possible experience for WWE 2K fans and will continue evaluating all opportunities to deliver the franchise across additional platforms.”
It’s likely that WWE 2K18’s poor launch on Switch influenced this decision, as Take-Two probably did not want to provide an equally mediocre experience for players. The last WWE game to launch on a Nintendo console was 2K13, so there’s always hope for a revival sometime in the future.
A while back, Capcom delayed Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection International, but we now know when it will be due out in Japan. The new release date is October 25, 2018, and will cost ¥5,389 for the retail version. The digital version is slightly less, at ¥4,860.
The new trailer can be viewed below:
Tomorrow, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker will be launching on Switch as a port of the Wii U original. Today, Gearbox announced that it has partnered with Versus Evil and Stoic to release The Banner Saga Trilogy on Switch. The package bundles all three entries in the series into a single package. It sounds like this will be a physical release, with pre-orders opening soon.
The Banner Saga Trilogy will be available sometime this summer.
Smash Bros. Ultimate received an official listing on Nintendo’s Japanese store today. On it, we’re given a rough idea about the game’s file size. Nintendo says that at least 16GB of free space will be needed.
We’re several months away from Smash Bros. Ultimate’s launch, and the game is almost certainly still in development. That means it’s impossible to tell at the moment just how much space will be required in the end. Don’t expect a final number until much later in 2018.
Smash Bros. Ultimate will release on December 7 worldwide.
Today, Pokemon the Movie: Everyone’s Story debuted in Japan. At the very end of the film, next year’s release was teased. Pokemon the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution will premiere in 2019.
Reports out of Japan say that Masachika Ichimura, the original voice for Mewtwo, has voiceover in the teaser. He says lines like “Who am I? Where am I?”, indicating that he’s coming back as Mewtwo.
The next big Splatoon 2 update has arrived. Following today’s earlier announcement, Nintendo has launched version 3.2.0 for all players.
