Inti Creates has supported Switch since the console’s launch last year. That’s continuing with the company’s upcoming titles, including Gal*Gun 2.

In a recently-translated interview with Dengeki, Inti Creates spoke more about bringing the game to Switch. Senior designer Masanori Ito said that the PlayStation 4 is the main development platform, but he believes the two versions will be close in quality.

Ito stated:

At the end of January, Zerodiv brought Zero Gunner 2 to the eShop. The studio also recently released an update for the classic arcade game on Switch.

The new patch adds in a little bit of functionality and implements a number of improvements. Here’s a full rundown of the update:

New sales data is in from the UK for the month of January.

GamesIndustry reports that there was an increase in physical games sold last month compared to the same period the year prior. 1.25 million boxed games were sold, up slightly from the 1.24 million boxed games sold in January 2017. Revenue also rose year-over-year from £35 million to £37 million.

Nintendo is credited for the rise in performance, which makes sense given how Switch wasn’t around in January 2017. The Big N held a 9% share of the software market at that point, but in January 2018, rose to 13.6% and was the top games company in the UK in terms of physical sales.

GREE, a Japanese company with a great deal of success in the mobile space, is now pursuing console development. We found out that they’re developing Fishing Star for Switch just a few days ago.

Apparently, GREE is considering using Nintendo Labo. The company said that it “may” take advantage of the fishing rod accessory.

As for how GREE is handling Fishing Star on Switch, it’s planned as a single-purchase title as opposed to free-to-play. It was selected as the company’s entry into the console market since there’s a minimum risk involved, there’s a certain scale in the fishing game market, and they want to collect know-how (on the market). Switch was chosen because of the Joy-Con and due to the fact that casual games are doing well on the platform.

Team Gherk-OUT won in all three categories, including votes, solo battles, and team battles. Only a few percentage points separated the teams, but it was still enough to propel them to a 3-0 victory.
