When the Super Famicom Mini launches in Japan early next month, HORI will be putting out a special controller. The Fighting Commander controller was popular back in the day, and a new version is being created for the system.

The Fighting Commander for the Super Famicom Mini uses a 2.4GHz frequency automatic switch method so you can leisurely play without having to worry about the cord. It has two levels of Slow Motion Switch. If this Slow switch is set to 1 or 2, it will cause the game to be in a slow motion mode where it will continuously pause. There are also switches to activate Turbo or Hold mode for each of L, R, Y, X, B, and A buttons. It can launch a turbo of 24 presses per second.

The Fighting Commander controller for the Super Famicom Mini will be available on October 6. Pricing is set at 2,678 yen.

Yesterday, Famitsu revealed that Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2 are coming to Switch in Japan on November 30. It didn’t take long for Capcom to follow up with some news for the west. Both games are slated for November 28 in North America and Europe.

On Switch, Capcom is including optional Joy-Con motion controls and HD Rumble compatibility. You can use the right Joy-Con to aim your shots and swing knife attacks, and flick it up to reload Shake the left Joy-Con to escape enemy attacks when grabbed.

The new Salmon Run mode in Splatoon 2 can be played locally at any time with friends. Online, however, is another story. Nintendo has set times in place throughout the week when the mode is available.

As part of a chat with Rolling Stone, designer Jordan Amaro (a rare western developer working at Nintendo in Japan) commented on why Salmon Run isn’t always playable online. Here’s what he had to say about the subject:

I’m not allowed to speak on it, because I’m not the game director. What I can say, and what I think can be said, is that there are lots of reasons. You have to trust us that if you could play Salmon Run online anytime, that would result in a worse experience for you and everybody.

In a statement released today by SnowCastle Games, Earthlock: Festival of Magic is due for release on Wii U on September 7th in Europe. The developers also plan on releasing the game in September 14th in the US.

They have also shared the news that they have secured a Japanese publishing deal that will bring their title over to Japan.

As for Switch, SnowCastle Games teased that fans should stay tuned to news from Cross Function at the Tokyo Game Show later this month.
