Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is impacted by a bit of an odd bug. If you have more than 100 friends on Switch, you won’t be able to create a private room with friends online. A message will pop up stating that you don’t have any friends, and you should add some by going to the Home Menu.
We’re hearing that deleting some people from the list solves the problem. The bug might be popping up due to Nintendo not optimizing the code from Mario Kart 8 for Wii U. On that system, there was a limit of 100 friends.

Charles Martinet – otherwise known as the voice of Mario – voiced several lines in Runner2. For Runner3, he reprised his role as The Narrator. Martinet’s work just wrapped up this week.
Speaking about Martinet’s involvement and the story in Runner3, Choice Provisions writes on its blog:
“As you may already know, Charles Martinet very graciously agreed to return for his role of The Narrator. What you don’t know, however, is that he has quite a few more lines this time around! Like, way more!
The story of Runner3 is going to be a little more substantial than what you’ve seen in the previous Runner games. We won’t let it obstruct the gameplay, certainly, but if you’re the kind of player who’s interested in learning a little more about the wacky world of Runner3, that option will be there for you. I don’t want to tell you how to play your video game, of course, but I do highly recommend you seek out the story we’ve woven throughout the game. We’ll do a blog post soon about what that kind of pursuit would look like.”
Choice Provisions also has a preview of Martinet’s voice in Runner3. Listen to it here.

Dragon Quest VIII is arguably one of the more important entries in the series. This was in part due to the game’s world, which was quite huge at the time.
Speaking about Dragon Quest VIII in this month’s issue of Game Informer, series creator Yuji Horii said:
“If you can see a mountain in the distance, you can run to that mountain and climb up it. Nowadays, this is pretty commonplace technology, but when Dragon Quest VIII was first released, this was groundbreaking.”
“I thought that laying out the story as a guiding path would make it possible to adventure and have fun in the world. While we have provided that path, we also intended for it to be possible to diverge from the path and enjoy the game freely.”
A curious listing has been found on the 3DS eShop for something called “Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga DX”. This can’t be accessed through normal means, but its title data does exist. We won’t get into specifics here since the data may have been accessed via hacking.
Nothing has been officially announced, but today’s discovery would suggest that Nintendo could be doing something new with the first entry in the Mario & Luigi franchise. Might a remake of the game be announced at E3?
