MonoGame, a tool developers use to bring Windows games to other platforms, is officially compatible with Switch. TowerFall, Celeste, and Stardew Valley are all making use of the software.

The official MonoGame Twitter account shared the news:

Wii U’s lack of compatibility with MonoGame hurt the console somewhat. Axiom Verge’s developer struggled to get the game running on Nintendo’s old console, which required an outside team to be brought in and handle the port.

Another file size is in for a Switch eShop game. FAST RMX, Shin’en’s racer, will be 900 MB.

Other information from Shin’en is below:

File Size

As always we used all tricks to keep the file size super small without sacrificing any quality.
The file size of FAST RMX will therefore only be ~900 Megabytes! So anyone can download it really ‘FAST’ to their internal memory.

Despite the small size the game is full packed of content, with an overview below:

– 10 Cups
– 15 Vehicles
– 30 Individual tracks
– 47 Audio Tracks

Surround Sound

When playing in console mode on a 5.1 surround set you can hear other drivers coming from behind or passing by. Of course also most other actions have 3D sounds associated.

When playing in handheld mode we down-mix to stereo but still have 3D information processed (distance, panning, doppler effect..)

Touch Screen

All buttons in the menus can also be operated by touch! This makes it a breeze to select any items when playing in handheld mode.

The full recording for this week’s Capcom TV is now available. Ultra Street Fighter II and Monster Hunter XX were both showcased.

For Ultra Street Fighter II, Capcom confirmed that touch controls are in. Buttons are naturally available, but it’s also possible to perform moves by touching the different areas of the Switch screen.

Fire Emblem and Ghosts ‘n Goblins collaborations were announced for Monster Hunter XX, but they seem to be pretty much the same as the ones offered in the English Generations release.

View the latest episode of Capcom TV in its entirety below. Ultra Street Fighter II’s touch controls are specifically shown at 1:48:00.
