Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber joined the European Wii U Virtual Console last week. In North America, it arrives tomorrow.
Nintendo’s website shares the following overview:
“Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber is a tactical RPG originally released for the Nintendo 64 system. The game tells the story of Magnus Gallant, a recently graduated officer of the Palatinean Army who is assigned to the troubled southern region of his native land. There he witnesses the plight of the lower classes – the victims of a tyrannical ruling elite whose only thought is for the preservation of their own lofty status. With civil war brewing, Magnus is faced with a terrible choice: to betray his own noble origins in the name of liberty, or turn a blind eye to the evils of his rotten society.”
Ogre Battle 64 will set you back $9.99.
As the countdown to Switch’s launch gets closer, retailers are now beginning to set up displays. Units are beginning to show up at Best Buy locations, for instance.
Sadly, these displays aren’t actually playable, as they only show trailers on a loop. You can at least pick which video to be shown. Plus, this only helps to promote Switch to the wider public in the end.
MixedBag Games is holding true to its promise of delivering forma.8 on Wii U. However, the team has expressed interest in porting the game – and bringing future projects – to Switch.
When asked about sticking with forma.8’s release on Wii U and the possibility of a Switch version by Nintendo Life, MixedBag co-founder Mauro Fanelli said:
“We’ve promised a Wii U version of the game and there were no chances we wouldn’t deliver on that. Especially considering that we had the Wii U version up and running perfectly from 2015.
We can’t wait to work on Switch and we really hope to be able to port forma.8 and all our future projects on it. It’s such a lovely bit of kit!”
You’ll be able to pick up forma.8 on the Wii U eShop very soon – it’s slated for February 28.
