At the 2015 Pokemon World Championships last weekend, Nintendo World Report asked The Pokemon Company’s J.C. Smith if Pokken Tournament is intended to be the main attraction for the series’ 20th anniversary in early 2016. Smith merely replied by saying no, but after being pressed further, he added the following:

“I’m splitting hairs. No, there’s lots of stuff planned for the 2016 year but nothing I can talk about now.”

During the same discussion, Smith also said that flowers will be important to Pokemon’s future.

It’s completely unknown what The Pokemon Company has planned at this time. As Nintendo World Report also points out, there could be something – or multiple things – that are of equal importance to Pokken Tournament that we’ll be seeing early next year.

Reviews for Devil’s Third are now starting to hit the net as the embargo has been lifted. Here’s a look at the early verdicts thus far:

GameSpot – 3 / 10
DigitalSpy – 1 / 5
Nintendo Life – N/A
GamesRadar – 1.5 / 5
Kotaku – “No”
Eurogamer – N/A
VideoGamer – N/A
EDGE – 3 / 10
Nintendo World Report – 3.5 / 10

Devil’s Third is arriving in Europe this Friday. North America is getting the game on December 11.

If the latest rumors are to be believed, Shovel Knight will be coming to Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS as a DLC character.

Nintendo Life heard the apparent news from “multiple sources within the video game retail sector”. However, Shovel Knight’s inclusion in the games has of course not been confirmed (or denied) at this time.

The announcement about Shovel Knight being added to Super Smash Bros. could be made within the next month or two. Development is said to be going well, and the character – who would be getting its own amiibo – may release sooner rather than later.

Indie title Nostalgia: Two Worlds | One Soul is in development for Wii U.

You’ll be taking on the role of Alice, a 22 year-old chemical engineering student. Alice spent twelve years at a facility after being kidnapped as a child, but following the failure of a mysterious project known as “Project Nostalgia”, she and fourteen other children were released. The game appears to take place ten years later with Alice experiencing a state of unconsciousness due to a side effect of the experiments that were performed on her. In her dreams, Alice sees herself locked in a room, and is told that she will die if she can’t escape within ten minutes.

Nostalgia: Two Worlds | One Soul features a mix of visual novel and RPG gameplay. Ace Attorney, Mother, and more are cited as references for inspiration. Here’s a rundown of the game’s features:

– Unique Characters from each worlds – Even though you may interact/play with your alter ego, every character is different. Everyone has different moods, ideas and even different weapon types.
– Beautiful Graphics – We are working extremely hard to bring beautiful, stylized and fully-animated graphics to your screen.
– Full Interaction – In Nostalgia, you will be able to interact with almost everything, and each object will have its own, unique description.
– Unexpected Outcomes – We want cliches out, simple as that. Solid true twists, no sugar coating.
– Decision Making – Each decision has it owns outcome. So re-playability is guarantee

A release date for Nostalgia: Two Worlds | One Soul has not yet been announced.

Nintendo announced a whole bunch of news on Monday, including release dates, the Mega Yarn Yoshi amiibo, and more. Daan and I talked about it all on the latest episode of Just a Chat, which you can listen to below. I was a bit exhausted while we were recording, but that’s okay!

Shin’en is still working on FAST Racing Neo for the Wii U eShop. But in terms of what the future holds, we could hear about the studio’s next game in 2016. The company, unsurprisingly, will almost certainly be sticking with Nintendo platforms with future titles.

Shin’en’s Martin Sauter told Nintendo World Report in an interview at Gamescom:

“We’re already brainstorming but we can talk about it when we’re ready. Fact is, we don’t know what’s in the future, but we’d love to stick with Nintendo hardware, eShop games and if FAST is a success we’ll keep going. Maybe next year we’ll talk about the next game.”
