Unity 5 was revealed back in March. When the announcement was made, we learned that it would run on a number of platforms, including Wii U. However, Unity followed up at the time by noting that it was unsure when Wii U would actually be receiving support for the new engine.
A development source speaking with Nintendo Everything has now confirmed that Unity 5 is starting to make its way to Wii U. A beta build based off of Unity 5.0.1 was just recently distributed, so teams can begin working with the upgraded technology.
Unfortunately, it’s sounding like it will be awhile before we actually begin seeing the first Unity 5 games released on the eShop. The information we received indicates that developers who intend on submitting titles before fall are being told to stick with Unity 4.3, as 5.0 is not currently master submittable.

MouseCraft is coming to Wii U, developer Crunching Koalas has announced. The studio confirmed the news on Twitter a few days ago with the following message:
And it's official! We're bringing MouseCraft to Xbox One and Wii U in the 3rd quarter of 2015! pic.twitter.com/DoLR0Fbll4
— Crunching Koalas (@CrunchingKoalas) May 21, 2015
MouseCraft originally launched on PC and PlayStation platforms last year. It’s described as “an A to B puzzle game” in which players stack Tetrominos blocks to help mice get to the cheese. Obstacles, collectibles, and the ability to create/share your own maps will surely keep things fresh.
MouseCraft should be landing on Wii U sometime during Q3 2015.
A rumored internal memo from GameStop provides an update on the situation surrounding amiibo.
Like every major retailer, GameStop will begin selling wave 4 Smash Bros. amiibo on Friday. But sadly, the stock situation here doesn’t sound too encouraging… aside from silver Mario.
Here’s what was shared by Reddit user “gamestopinfo5678”:
Our shipments of wave 4 SUCK. plain and simple. from 0 robins/lucina to just one of each. 1,2, or no nesses. Surprisingly we’ll have plenty of silver mario’s for whatever that’s worth. Memo stated that we will not be re-supplying wave 4. Once we run out, we are out. you can camp gamestop if you want, but as a collector myself…I’m not. I can spend my time better at another store with much better stock. (this doesn’t mean there won’t be the abnormal store here and there that might have decent stock)
The one bright spot? We’re hearing that GameStop will post in hand stock on the morning of May 29 on the door. That means you’ll be able to see stock totals while waiting in line.

During a mall event tour in Japan, The Great Ace Attorney producer announced that Capcom is planning on releasing a demo on the Japanese 3DS eShop. It will basically be the same one as the one shared at Monster Hunter Festa, but it will allow those who couldn’t attend to give The Great Ace Attorney a try.
The Great Ace Attorney’s demo weighs in at 48.9 MB and offers 30 uses. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on when it will be hitting the eShop. We should hear something more concrete soon.
Nintendo uploaded a new Splatoon “Extended Cut” video that seems to take some cues from the recent commercials. Give it a look below.
