The game may not even be out yet, but Japanese players already have details of the first event for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. From November 1st through to April 30th 2015, players will be able to collect codes redeemable for in-game for items such as Nuggets, Super Potions, Luxury Balls, Rare Candies and Master Balls. Legendary Pokemon Shaymin, Keldeo and Victini are also on offer for those that can find them during the event.

These codes are found through clippings obtained through merchandise like the TCG booster packs Gaia Volcano and Tidal Storm, in Pokemon Sandwich packs and in Pokemon 3D pencil cases. A total of 50 different cards are up for grabs though not all rewards are equal in value. The number of cards needed for each reward are as follows:

  • Shaymin only needs 1 card
  • A Nugget needs 3 cards
  • A Super Potion need 5 cards
  • Keldeo needs 7 cards
  • Luxury Balls need 10 cards
  • A Rare Candy need 13 cards
  • Victini needs 16 cards
  • A Master Ball needs a total of 20 cards

A look at a returning feature from Brawl today, Sakurai details Photo Studio which will be making a return to Wii U:

A trio of Halloween 3DS themes are now available in Japan. These include Zelda and Animal Crossing variations, plus a black cat theme.

Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs companion app recently received an update. It is now compatible with the game’s Wii U version, which hits store shelves next month.

By using the app, you’ll be able to play with friends on Wii U (or any other console/PC). Race and Free Ride modes are both supported.

Today’s NPD day, and Nintendo has once again provided its regular response to the latest US sales data.

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS managed to sell over 705,000 copies in its first two days, making the game the fourth best-selling software SKU for the month. 135,000 of those sales came from eShop downloads.

3DS sales came in at 140,000 for September – up 55 percent compared to August. Wii U sales also increased by nearly 50 percent over sales in August thanks to Hyrule Warriors (190,000 units sold) and Mario Kart 8 (60,000 units sold).
