Attack on Titan: The Last Wings of Mankind may have a shot at localization. According to a Siliconera report, Spike Chunsoft has been searching for a publishing partner in hopes of bringing the game west. That’s not a confirmation by any means, but it’s a fair bit of hope for the future.
What will it take for Marvel to sign off on an Avengers game? TQ Jefferson, Marvel’s head of games, told IGN that this will only be possible “when we have the right partner, that has the right vision, that has the time to develop a strong, competitive triple-A title and wants to do it right.”
Jefferson’s comments in full:
“The Avengers game will come when we have the right partner, that has the right vision, that has the time to develop a strong, competitive triple-A title and wants to do it right. It has to hit our three pillars: Fun and engaging gameplay, true to the characters, compelling story. Without hitting those notes, we shouldn’t do it. Gamers, they know better. They’re not going to flock to something that’s sub-par.”
“I think the fact that there wasn’t an Avengers game turned out in time for the film is indicative of Marvel’s new attitude and the approach to how we find partners and build games. I think in the heyday of the movie licensed game, these games were popping out all the time and most of them sucked.”
Jefferson was later asked by IGN if the subpar Captain America and Thor games had any influence on this. He said, “Absolutely, absolutely. We got a bloody nose on both of those.” Marvel has since “heeded that lesson.” Going forward, the company “would rather not have a game than to just sign something to have something out on time.”
The image above comes from THQ’s cancelled Avengers game, which was thought to be in development for Wii U and other platforms at one point. That project looked promising, so it’a shame it never saw the light of day!
Former Bionic Games creative director Mike Stout has shared some incredibly interesting insight into the development of Spyborgs.
For those who are unaware, Spyborgs is Capcom’s Wii-exclusive title developed by Bionic Games. After its initial reveal, the project underwent a major overhaul following feedback from fans.
Stout says that Bionic had just six months to recreate its game from scratch for Capcom. Amazingly, Capcom ended up shipping an incomplete, pre-beta build in North America as the final version. Unlike Europe, the US received a game with untuned difficulty and companion AI that “just didn’t work.”
Stout also touched on the relationship between Bionic Games and Capcom. Sadly, both companies ended up treating each other very poorly.
You can find all of Stout’s tweets after the break. Please note that some of the messages contain strong lanauge.

Armature Studio and Warner Bros. Interactive have prepared a new update for Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate: Deluxe Edition. The thing is, we’re not sure what it changes/adds at the moment. We’ll let you know if we receive any additional information.
And here’s the file size of the other new Wii U eShop title launching today: Abyss. The game is only 127MB. You should be able to easily fit that on your Wii U’s internal memory or external harddrive.
Stick it to the Man is one of two new games hitting the North American Wii U eShop today – the other being Abyss. Keep in mind that the download takes up about 1,100MB of space. Not too large of a game!
