– The “Fafnir” in the title is actually the protagonist’s power that lets him go into beast mode
– The protagonist looks like a serious guy, but he gets along pretty well with a cheerful childhood buddy like Flavio
– Arianna is the princess of the Duke of Caledonia, who is headed to some unknown ruins called “Gunnunga” to partake in a ceremony that takes place once every hundred years
– Flavio is the protagonist’s childhood friend
– He’s an overall cheerful guy
– Flavio is also the straight man of the group
– Bertrand looks like a proper, gallant paladin at first glance
– He’s actually a slacker, irresponsible, and overall not that great of a person
– Chloe is a War Magus who has been traveling around with Bertrand
– She seems to only go into action whenever she’s interested in something
– Chloe doesn’t alk much
– Her quote of “Is that fun? Then… Chloe is interested” might give you a better idea of her type of character

New details have come in about the rival character in Azure Striker Gunvolt, who goes by the name Acura / Copen.

Here’s the latest about the character:

– Dubbed “the Psychic Slayer”
– Has a deep hated for Psychics and the Sumeragi group
– He’s dedicated to eradicating psychics
– Copen believes Psychics are a threat if left unchecked and will eventually subjugate anyone that doesn’t have their powers
– As such, he’s made it his mission to destroy them
– He has no powers of his own, but his scientific mind is on par with Sumeragi’s best scientists
– Copen is a highly skilled fighter as well
– Using Psychic Element samples that he has stolen and analyzed, Copen has created equipment that can replicate Psychic powers
– When you face him, he will use powers that he has replicated from the game’s Psychic bosses
– Lazy Laser: Copen fires a giant laser that continues going after Gunvolt by passing through a series of wormholes; based on the psychic elements of Merak
– Arrogant Radiance: Copen switches his shield to attack mode and fires at Gunvolt with a giant laser beam and photo guns; based on Iota

Natsume is continuing its series of developer diaries for Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley, and has revealed new details.

First, producer Taka Maekawa discusses how caring for and raising animals will work:

“While we were first developing Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley, we called it by a code name: Back to Basics. We’ve applied this philosophy to many aspects of the game, including the animals available on the farm. We went back to the basics: cows, sheep, chickens, and, of course, horses.”

Famitsu recently published an interview with Etrian Odyssey Untold II: The Knight of Fafnir producer and director Shigeo Komori.

First, here’s what Komori said about changes from the previous game:

“Our thought was to make an Etrian Odyssey game that focuses on the characters and story that many people can enjoy, and that development concept principle has not changed. Also, the subtitle of the game, ‘The Knight of Fafnir’ is about the protagonist.”

“Last time it was the subtitle of ‘The Millennium Girl,’ which revolved around the heroine’s story. However, this time it will be about the player’s role as the protagonist, and how his friends overcome obstacles in the fantasy RPG you’ll get to enjoy.”

Komori also shared the following details:

– “Fafnir” is the name of the protagonist’s power that allows him to transform
– Komori states that it will completely transform his appearance while giving him a big boost in stats
– It also brings about a variety of different skills he can use
– Using this transformation ability can easily change the tides in battle
– It’ll also have its limits
– The heroine Arianna is of the “Princess” class
– The game’s character designer Yuji Himukai put quite the effort into her design
– Himukai included roughly 20 different expressions for all the other characters
– Arianna will have over 50 different expressions in the game
– There will also be animated scenes and voice acting like Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl
– There’s about twice the volume of voice-acting
