Mutant Mudds started out as a 3DS game, but it’s now out on a bunch of different platforms. In addition to Nintendo’s handheld, the game also landed on the Wii U, PS3, PS Vita, PC, and iOS.

Yet despite the many platforms Mutant Mudds can now be found on, 3DS remains the game’s top-performing platform. Renegade Kid co-founder Jools Watsham said on Twitter last week that the studio has “made more revenue on 3DS than all other platforms combined”.

Inazuma Eleven may finally make its debut in the US, if a listing on Nintendo’s website is to be believed. An inclusion on the company’s release calender page includes a Q1 2014 launch for “Inazuma Eleven” without any further details.

Nintendo has yet to announce any of the Inazuma Eleven titles for North America. Could this listing be nothing more than an error?

If it is indeed legitimate, we’re hoping that Inazuma Eleven 1-2-3 will make its way over rather than simply the first game, as the former product bundles together the series’ first three releases.

WayForward was once working on a pictionary title for Wii U, according to the LinkedIn profile of gameplay engineer Brian Valdillez.

Valdillez mentions “Pictionary Universe” on his CV, which was on track for release in 2012. The game “implemented rudimentary functionality with recording and replay capabilities designed for uploading to Miiverse.”

Sadly, Pictionary Universe won’t be seeing the light of day. Valdillez lists the project as “cancelled” on his LinkedIn profile.

The next Senran Kagura game should be announced in just a matter of days. That’s not the only title series producer Kenichiro Takaki is working on, though.

Speaking to 4Gamer, Takai teased a brand new project that is said to be “new and challenging”. The unannounced title is planned for release this year in Japan.

Takai said:

“To start the new year, we’ll be announcing a lot of Senran Kagura news come January 8th, at the Senran Kagura Bakunyuu Hyper Presentation. We’ve kept you waiting a little longer for its release this time compared to the previous time, but I believe we’ll be able to reveal a great deal more [at the event]. In addition, we also have another title we’ll be releasing in 2014.”

“This title will be a new and challenging one, but things are going smoothly for now, so please look forward to it!. Please continue supporting the Senran Kagura series and Marvelous AQL this year as well!”

Tantalus Media is starting work on a “AAA next-gen title” sometime this month. The news comes from a job posting added to the studio’s website just a few weeks ago. While the listing doesn’t offer much in the way of details, Wii or Wii U development experience is mentioned as a desirable trait.

Amazon began selling various 3DS XL systems directly a couple of months ago. However, the situation may have reverted to the way things were originally.

At least for the time being, you can’t purchase any of the 3DS XL models straight through Amazon. You’ll have to make a purchase through another seller if you’re looking to buy a unit from the retailer’s site.

Nintendo and Amazon have maintained a noticeably strained relationship over the years. Cooperation between the two appeared to be improving after news spread regarding Amazon’s move to sell 3DS XL models directly, but may have soured yet again.

Update: Watsham is very likely teasing a new 3DS game announcement entirely. Last month, he did confirm that an entirely new reveal would be taking place this month.

Renegade Kid will have an announcement pertaining to a 3DS first-person shooter later this month, studio co-founder Jools Watsham has teased.

Watsham could be referring to Cult County, which was announced last year. The game in question could also be an entirely new project.

Watsham’s tweet in full is as follows:

Kotaku recently had the chance to interview Nintendo’s Kouichi Kawamoto and Toyokazu Nonaka about the StreetPass Mii Plaza. Topics include the new games, connection limit (which won’t be going away any time soon), puzzles, and more.

You can find a few excerpts from the interview below. Kotaku’s full piece is located here.

Masahiro Sakurai had a whole lot to say about game balance for the new Super Smash Bros. games in his weekly Famitsu column. You can find an overview of what Sakurai said in the magazine below.

“Now that Sunday’s day off is past, I’m currently working on the character adjustment for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. At the moment, Bowser is very strong. He’s really strong. Fans of Smash Bros. probably never saw him as too much of a strong character, but this time, his ability to knock others out is very strong!”

– Bowser’s Smash attacks, special attacks, and aerial attacks now have quite the ability to send opponents flying through the air
– The best part about this is that it feels great
– This great feeling is what Sakurai would like to focus on for the upcoming Smash Bros. games
– He’s putting more care into that part of the game than ever
– Sakurai says having strong attacks are also something that must be carefully balanced
– This is because it may feel unfair to opponents if they’re too overpowered
– In order to meet the right standards, Sakurai and the rest of the development team have been spending a lot of time adjusting stronger attacks to see what works best
