Kirby Star Allies World Map

Kirby Star Allies made a pretty significant change to the World Map. In previous games, a board-style map was employed. This time, however, you can freely move around and you’re not on rails.

Kirby Star Allies sequence director Tatsuya Kamiyama recently offered some insight into the change and the team’s approach to the World Map in general. Read what Kamiyama shared on the subject below.

During the Q&A portion of Nintendo’s financial results briefing, current president Tatsumi Kimishima and upcoming president Shuntaro Furukawa fielded around a dozen questions. There was talk about Kimishima’s retirement, wanting to reach new people with Switch, continued 3DS support, interest in China, and a whole lot more.

Currently, the Q&A transcription is only in Japanese. However, Dualshockers has provided a summary, which we’ve rounded up below. We’ll also bring you more on this when the English translation is live.

What are you expecting out of Pokemon on Switch? What’s a feature that you’d personally like to see? Do you believe it’ll launch this year or in 2019? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

Nintendo Labo

This information comes from Nintendo’s Tatsumi Kimishima…

Firstly, Nintendo Labo has had the high expectation as a “very Nintendo” product since the original announcement in January this year, and as soon as it was launched, consumers have been posting photos and video of parents and children as they work together to assemble the cardboard pieces and then play with their completed Toy-Con, which were unimaginable in video games before. It has been on sale for only a week in Japan and the US, while sales in Europe will begin today, but the main purchasers of Nintendo Labo at launch are not the same as with typical video games, and they are mainly elementary school children and their fathers, as well as game players who like creative activities. We developed and will nurture Nintendo Labo as a product that is not constrained by the boundaries of conventional video games and can endear itself to a broader range of consumers. From the initial response, we have this solid feeling that we are off to a great start in that regard.
