The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Zelda: Breath of the Wild has reached a major milestone. Based on the latest information provided within Nintendo’s financial results, disregarding re-releases and remakes, it’s now the best-selling entry ever.

On Switch, Nintendo confirms that Breath of the Wild has sold 8.48 million copies. Another 1.5 million units have been sold on Wii U. Essentially, it is at nearly 10 million copies sold.

Zelda: Twilight Princess was the previous record holder for the series. It had sold 8.85 million copies worldwide.

The news about Tatsumi Kimishima retiring from Nintendo as president isn’t the only big role change announced for the company today. Satoru Shibata, who has been the president of Nintendo of Europe, is also relocating from his role.

Nintendo confirms that Shibata is becoming a director. In a sense, this is an upgrade, as he’ll have a greater executive officer role as part of the board of directors.

It is not immediately clear who will be taking over for Shibata’s previously role.

Today, Nintendo announced its full 2017 fiscal year earnings results. We’ll be rounding up all of the important pieces of information below.

As part of its latest financial results, Nintendo has updated its listings of million sellers across various platforms, including Switch games.

Among the highlights, Kirby Star Allies is already at 1.26 million as of March 31. That’s despite the fact that the game only launched last month.

After Satoru Iwata passed away in 2015, Tatsumi Kimishima was brought in as Nintendo’s global president. Kimishima’s primary role at the company will be ending soon, however. In its financial results today, Nintendo announced that Kimishima will be retiring as president.

Shuntaro Furukawa, 46, will be taking over for Kimishima. He joined Nintendo in 1994 and has worked in global marketing and at The Pokemon Company. Since 2016, Furukawa has been Nintendo’s Managing Executive Officer, Supervisor of Corporate Analysis & Administration Division and Director.

Kimishima will officially step down on June 28. According to Nikkei, he’ll remain with Nintendo as an adviser.

Fire Emblem Warriors has shipped one million copies, Koei Tecmo announced as part of its latest financial results today. That number accounts for sales worldwide. Switch and New 3DS are accounted for in the figure.

SaGa Scarlet Grace

SaGa Scarlet Grace is looking likely for a western release. On Twitter earlier today, designer Akitoshi Kawazusaid that preparation has begun for an English version. However, it’s not at a stage where a release window can be announced.

Square Enix announced this week that SaGa Scarlet Grace is launching in Japan on August 2 for Switch. It’s based on the PlayStation Vita version that first shipped in 2016, but with extra features and new content.

Super Mario Odyssey - Topper Hat and Topper Suit

A brand new outfit is now available in Super Mario Odyssey. In addition to the Topper Hat, players can obtain the Topper Suit with coins. They cost 1,500 and 3,000 coins respectively.

Blade Strangers

Nicalis and Studio Saizensen have published two new videos for the crossover fighting title Blade Strangers. Along with the opening cinematic, we also have a one-minute look at gameplay.

Blade Strangers will feature characters from various games including Code of Princess, Sayonara Umihara Kawase, and Cave Story. The current roster is as follows:
