ARMS producer on updates, more lore to tell, eSports, future of the IP, more

This week’s issue of Famitsu contains a new ARMS developer interview. The magazine caught up with Kosuke Yabuki, the game’s producer. Yabuki talked about updates (including how Springtron was an unexpected addition to the roster), lore, eSports, what lies ahead for the IP, and more.
Yabuki first said that Nintendo had initially planned to update ARMS multiple times until it was updated to version 5.0.0 by the end of 2017. But of course the team decided on the update content not only from what had been planned previously but also from player requests. It felt like polishing ARMS together with all players, so Yabuki was glad about that.

SEGA likely teasing some sort of Sonic-related racing game

SEGA made several announcements during its Sonic panel at SXSW today. To close out the event, the company teased an entirely different project.
Aside from the teaser below, we don’t have anything to go on. But intuition would tell you that it’s some sort of Sonic-related racing game – especially given past rumors over the past couple of months.
No name or anything else for this one. SEGA only said that it isn’t a sequel to any of the Sonic games released thus far. Hopefully we’ll hear more in the near future.

Third-party docks seem to be bricking Switch systems with version 5.0.0
Posted on 6 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
Switch gained a new update this past week. While it added some features and implemented some improvements, it unfortunately seems to be causing major issues for third-party docks.
A number of docks not made by Nintendo have been released over the past year, including from Nyko. YouTuber Spawn Wave reports that his system has been completely bricked after using the company’s device with the latest Switch update. It simply won’t turn on, and it currently seems that all save data will be lost as a result.
