Nintendo has isssued a new announcement covering additional details about the Nintendo World Championships 2017.

First, Metroid: Samus Returns is confirmed to be in the tournament. Also, along with the 16 qualifying players, 8 players from across the country and around the world have been invited, including talented speed-runners, tournament players and online personalities from the United States, Europe, Canada and Mexico. Actor and Super Smash Bros. tournament player Asa Butterfield and WWE Superstar Bayley will be present.

Another big Switch game could be launching on Switch very soon. According to Nintendo’s website, Oxenfree is due out on October 6. That listing isn’t absolutely definitive, but it’s a good sign that we’ll be seeing the game in the near future.

Fire Emblem Warriors officially launches in Japan on Thursday. However, some players are managing to get their hands on the game early. Because of that, information is being revealed early, including new characters.

The tricky thing here is that we’re still learning who is playable and who is just an NPC. But as things stand currently, Fire Emblem Warriors’ roster can be found below.

Square Enix is localizing the Japanese Switch title Spelunker Party! for North America and Europe, the company announced today. The game will be available digitally via the eShop on October 19. Pricing is set at $29.99.

Golf Story was initially listed for September 28 on the European eShop today. Thankfully that date is confirmed, and it applies to both North America and Europe.

Nintendo has been publishing weekly interviews about games included in the Super NES Classic Edition in preparation of the hardware’s launch later this week. For the latest discussion, Super Mario Kart is the focus. Tadashi Sugiyama and Hideki Konno were brought in to talk about the SNES game.

Sugiyama and Konno talked about Super Mario Kart’s origins, including how Shigeru Miyamoto’s request to create a 2-player F-Zero led to the start of the project. They also explained how Mario Kart characters ended up being inserted, the various items, and more.

The Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia came out in Japan earlier this year. Dark Horse Comics is readying the English release, and it now has a release window. You can look forward to the North American launch in April 2018.

The Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia will cover the series’ first game up through Twilight Pricness HD. Spread across 320 pages, you’ll find explanations and descriptions of everything from items and potion to relationships between characters. The book contains maps, illustrations, and screencaps plus an interview with series producer Eiji Aonuma.

Pre-orders for The Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia are opening soon. Pricing is set at $39.99.

Nintendo has announced the Fire Emblem Warriors DLC for North America and Europe, which was first revealed at the Tokyo Game Show this weekend.

Attack on Titan 2 was announced for Switch during the Tokyo Game Show this past weekend. Koei Tecmo followed up with news for the west today, confirming that the Switch version will also be released in North America and Europe.

A.O.T. 2 delves deeply into the fascinatingnarrative of Attack on Titan’s second season and offers players exhilarating action and new challenges, as it introduces the newly improved omni-directional mobility gear offering advanced freedom of movement and targeting precision to counter enhanced Titan movements.

Switch has been receiving all sorts of compliments from developers and industry members. Suda51 event recently called the system as well as Nintendo in general “punk”.
