Sonic Frontiers’ marketing has been a rollercoaster
Posted on 2 years ago by Luiz in Features, Switch, Videos | 0 comments
Sonic as a franchise is in a curious situation right now. When we look at the hedgehog’s popularity, it is definitely at a high-point thanks to the successful movie sequel that was recently in cinemas. However, when we talk about the actual games, some would argue it’s been a while since we saw a solid release from Sonic Team.
Sonic Frontiers is the next mainline game coming out and expectations are all over the place. Thanks to a weird first impression, people are already worried about it. Right now, however, things are getting progressively better, with new footage and information about the game constantly being revealed and giving some hope for us fans.
I discuss this rollercoaster of events in today’s video, sharing my opinions on the matter. Feel free to check it down below.

How much of Pokemon Legends: Arceus is in Scarlet and Violet?
Posted on 2 years ago by Luiz in Features, Switch, Videos | 0 comments
The Pokemon Company recently released a new trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, showing a bit more of the new generation that will finally bring true open world gameplay to the series.
After seeing the video, while I certainly became more excited, I confess that I was also a bit disappointed to see some gameplay elements from Pokemon Legends: Arceus not carrying over. This is something I discuss in depth in our latest video. Feel free to check it out below.
Games that look visually “perfect” on Switch
Posted on 2 years ago by Luiz in Features, Switch, Videos | 0 comments
It’s not a secret to anyone that, for a while now, Nintendo has the “weakest” piece of gaming hardware on the market. Instead of raw processing power, the company tries to attract consumers with new and unique functionality. However, hardware limitations never stopped developers from producing amazing looking games.
In today’s video, my goal is to highlight some of the best achievements on Switch from a visual standpoint. These are about games that managed to make a fantastic use of the hardware, to the point that they are a “perfect” fit for the hybrid console. You can check out the video down below.
How Nintendo’s success may affect the future of Switch
Posted on 2 years ago by Luiz in Switch, Videos | 0 comments
At this point, it is undeniable that the Switch is a massive success. Each time that Nintendo announces its financial results, we see software and hardware sales growing at an impressive rate. It’s interesting because the last console, Wii U, was probably one of Nintendo’s biggest failures and now I’m very interested to see how they will handle the second half of Switch’s life.
In today’s video, I speculate about what the future of the console could be like, including the possibility of future hardware revisions. Feel free to check it out below.
Xenoblade Chronicles: a spoilery discussion about the series
Posted on 2 years ago by Luiz in Features, New Nintendo 3DS, Switch, Wii | 0 comments
Here we are again talking about Xenoblade Chronicles – this time with something a little bit different. Instead of the usual ten-minute video we usually share on Sunday, this is more of a discussion. I’ve had a desire to talk more in-depth about the franchise because there’s so much to discuss about these complex games.
To help me on this task, our reporter Nicolas joined me in an hour-long Xenoblade discussion where we talk about our experiences with the series, specific plot points and what we expect from the future third game in the franchise. If you are interested, feel free to check it out in the video down below.
Does Splatoon still feels fresh?
Posted on 2 years ago by Luiz in Features, Switch, Videos, Wii U | 0 comments
Splatoon is a fascinating franchise to look at. Coming from a company that has the biggest names in the industry, it’s impressive how fast the series managed to get the same success of other IPs with three games already in the span of eight years.
In today’s video, I wanted to reflect in the aging process of the franchise, looking at how new and fresh the game looked on Wii U and how the series has evolved since that. If you’re interested in that topic, feel free to check out the video down below. At the very end here’s also the announcement for the winner of our last giveaway.

Here’s why Xenoblade Chronicles 3 could be the series’ best entry yet
Posted on 2 years ago by Luiz in Features, Switch | 0 comments
After the new trailer released last week, we discovered that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is way closer than we thought, with a new release date set for July 29 rather than September. That is something incredibly rare in the gaming industry and may be a sign that Nintendo and Monolith Soft are really confident in the game.
With that in mind plus some other thoughts, in today’s video I discuss the possibility that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 could be the best we’ve seen of the series thus far. Feel free to check my conclusions below.

Nintendo’s past with direct sequels, and how Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 fits into that
Posted on 2 years ago by Luiz in Features, Videos | 0 comments
Over the years we’ve seen many instances in which Nintendo resorted to a very common strategy in the gaming industry: releasing a very successful title followed by a sequel using many of the tools created for its predecessor. Engine, assets, animation, and other elements are some of the things that are brought back.
Now we’re waiting on the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which seems to be taking a lot of elements from the last successful Zelda game. In today’s video, I decided to take a look at other direct sequels that Nintendo produced in the past, analyzing the different strategies and trying to see where the new Zelda may fit into that. You can check out the video down below.
