Nintendo has released two special The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild wallpapers. One of them features the special artwork that was first seen in a recent issue of Famitsu magazine; the other depicts Link and the four Champions. You can download them for PC and smartphone in a variety of sizes here.

In addition to the Starter Support event, those of you playing Fire Emblem Heroes on an Android device will find another nice surprise waiting for you: a free 4-star (female) Corrin. While she’s not the most powerful unit ever, she might be a good candidate to test the new skill inheritance system.

Again, she is only being sent out to Android users – no such luck for people playing the game on an Apple device.

To follow up on our earlier article on Nintendo’s plans to double the amount of Switch console’s produced in the next fiscal year, Nintendo will naturally expect to sell more of those units as well.

All of this comes from sources from the Wall Street Journal, and while they have traditionally been very reliable with matters like this, take this with a grain of salt. As we reported earlier, Nintendo plans to produce 16 million Switch units in the next fiscal year (April 2017 – March 2018). In that period, according to the Wall Street Journal, Nintendo plans to sell a total of 10 million of them. Adding to that the 2.5 million units Nintendo has targeted for this fiscal year (i.e. this March), this would bring the Switch’s expected first year sales to about 12.5 million. Certainly an ambitious goal, but given the Switch’s strong launch sales and positive buzz, definitely not impossible.

We will likely hear an official statement regarding Nintendo’s Switch plans at the company’s Fiscal Year Earnings release on April 27th.

Yacht Club Games had the honor of making the first ever third party amiibo with Shovel Knight – and it sounds like they’d be up for making some more. In an interview with Gadgets 360, Yacht Club Games director Sean Velasco had the following to say about the possibility of more amiibo from them:

“As far as more amiibo go… man, wouldn’t it be cool to see amiibo of Plague Knight, Specter Knight, and King Knight!? That would be amazing. Maybe some day.”

Of course, this might just be wishful thinking on Velasco’s part and he might not be teasing anything specific, but given how successful Shovel Knight has been and Yacht Club Games’ close relationship with Nintendo, it’s certainly not impossible.

The release date of Monster Hunter XX in Japan is fast approaching – in fact, it’s out this Saturday. Famitsu magazine did one last big feature on the game before its release, and while most of it is recapping old info, there are a couple of new pieces of info in there as well. Adam “Gaijinhunter” Evanko has kindly translated the new stuff.

First up, if you own save data from Monster Hunter Generations (presumably only the Japanese version), you can partially transfer that over to Monster Hunter XX. Here’s what will be carried over:

  • Story progress
  • Hunter rank up to rank 8 (you get to keep titles from higher ranks)
  • Name and looks of your character, although you are given the option of changing them once during the transfer process
  • All weapons, pieces of armor, items, palicoes, money
  • The “cleared” status for normal quests

And here’s what’s NOT carried over:

  • Everything that was in progress when you transferred, such as Hunters for hire currently out
  • UI settings and filters
  • Guild Card settings
  • Play time
  • Event quests and challenge quests

Famitsu also shared some information about two important breakthrough quests – you will want to hunt Congalala to access the high rank village and Diabolos to reach G rank.

There will also be a feature that lets you turn a max rank weapon into a G rank weapon, though further details weren’t mentioned.

Finally, a new feature will allow you to have convenient items such as pickaxes and rations delivered to you while you’re out on a quest. Also, the previously announced Sailor Moon collaboration will be available starting March 24th.

Head past the break for some screenshots that show off these new features, including the one that lets you keep the stats of gear while changing its appearance:

Tyrone Rodriguez, the founder of developer Nicalis, confirmed on Twitter today that The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ will get a physical release in Europe. He didn’t offer any additional details though, such as a concrete release date. If you’re in Europe and can’t wait to play the game on your Switch, then your best option is probably to download the game from the North American eShop, where it will be available tomorrow.

According to research done by SuperData, Nintendo has so far managed to sell 1.5 million Switch systems worldwide. 500,000 systems were sold in the US, 360,000 were sold in Japan and Europe “isn’t far behind”, though it should be noted that most of these numbers are from first week sales, so they’re likely higher by now. Nintendo’s goal is to sell 2 million units in March, a goal they will likely easily achieve.

Unsurprisingly, the best-selling Switch title so far is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. According to SuperData, 89% of Switch owners also bought the new Zelda game, which would equate to 1.34 million copies sold.

LEGO Worlds was released on other platforms last week, but the Switch version doesn’t have a concrete release date yet. The reason for that might be the fact that development on the Switch version only started very recently. Here’s what Chris Rose, the associate producer of the game, had to say about the Switch version:

“We decided to make this version on January. We were looking at the development of LEGO City Undercover, so we asked the team ‘How are you going with that?’ and the answer was truly positive, testers were very happy with it. Then, we said: ‘Ok, let’s try it [bringing LEGO Worlds to Switch]’, we started to do programming things and testing some optimizations for the graphics engine. This started like three weeks ago, on February. We think that having a portable version of the game is something really interesting, so we went for that.”
