Time Pilot '84

Hamster is continuing its string of Arcade Archives releases with another game on Switch this week. On May 27, Time Pilot ’84 will be available worldwide.

Time Pilot ’84 was originally made by Konami. It’s a scrolling multidirectional shooter in which players fly over alien cityscapes and take down both ground and air enemies.

Pricing for Time Pilot ’84 is set at $7.99 / €6.99 / £6.29.

There’s no question that Masahiro Sakurai is a veteran developer of the games industry. He’s been working on various projects for nearly three decades, and has contributed to some major IPs. Of course, he’ll always be recognized for his involvement in Kirby and Super Smash Bros.

There are some early leaks from Sakurai’s column in this week’s Famitsu, and he delves into what lies ahead in the future. As for that column which been ongoing since 2003, he would likely be ending it “this year at the latest.”

A new update for the Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online app has just gone out. Users can now access version 5.3.0.

As previously mentioned, Ninja JaJaMaru-kun has been added as a new game. Here’s a brief overview:

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online app has been updated, bringing it to version 2.3.0. Four new games can now be played: Caveman Ninja, Magical Drop2, Super Baseball Simulator 1.000, and Spanky’s Quest.

King of Seas

Team17 and 3DClouds have uploaded a launch trailer for King of Seas, their new action RPG set in a deadly procedurally generated pirate world. We have it below.

Roguebook

Nacon and Abrakam Entertainment have shared a new “Deckbuilding” gameplay trailer for Roguebook, their upcoming roguelike deckbuilder.

Miitopia

Nintendo has issued a small update for the Switch version of Miitopia. Version 1.0.3 adds support for the Power-Up Band (amiibo), which provides a character outfit when used.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was last updated at the start of 2019, but the game just received its latest patch. All users can access version 1.7.2.

Nintendo has announced the latest tournament event for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This time around, the game will be featuring franchises that are turning 35 this year. The tournament limit the fighters, stages, and items to Zelda, Metroid, Kid Icarus, Castlevania, and Dragon Quest.

The tournament kicks off on May 28. It will last for a total of three days.

Original (5/19): Pre-orders have started to open for the newly-announced Zelda & Loftwing amiibo, which will be released alongside Zelda: Skyward Sword HD. Best Buy currently has it here. As more retailers make the figure available, we’ll let you know.

Keep in mind that this amiibo will be a bit pricier than normal. The cost of these figures have varied over the past few years, though they’ve usually settled in at around $16 from Nintendo. However, this one will set you back $25.

The Zelda & Loftwing amiibo releases on July 16.
