Team Cherry is hard at work on Hollow Knight: Silksong, the follow-up to the developer’s acclaimed action-adventure game. Eventually, there’ll come a time when the studio’s focus shifts to a different project entirely. And in fact, it’s something that Team Cherry is already thinking about ever so slightly.
Co-directors Ari Gibson and William Pellen commented on what’s next in the latest issue of EDGE. When asked if the team will be taking a break after Silksong, Gibson stated:

[Let’s Talk] Expectations for Zelda’s 35th anniversary

If Super Mario is any indication, there’s a good chance that Nintendo will be celebrating the 35th anniversary of Zelda this year. The very first game debuted on February 21, 1986, so the big milestone is only about a month away. When Nintendo is done celebrating Super Mario’s anniversary after March, perhaps that’s when the focus will shift to Zelda.
There are a couple of things to consider for Zelda. First, Nintendo previously celebrated the series for 25 years in 2011. That gave us new games with Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time 3D, and Four Swords Anniversary Edition. The symphony concerts also really started to take off that year. Nintendo sprinkled around a decent amount of merchandise as well.
Going back to Super Mario, we’ve seen how Nintendo celebrated the series’ 35th anniversary. There have been lots of different things happening between new games, tie-ins with other Nintendo titles, products, and events.
Now thinking about what’s in store for Zelda’s 35th anniversary, what are your expectations? Do you think we’ll be getting Breath of the Wild 2 this year? Could Nintendo bring past entries in the series for Switch? What do you think could happen outside of games? Let us know in the comments below.

Marvelous says No More Heroes 1 and 2 for Switch saw strong sales in North America and Europe

As part of its latest financial results, Marvelous provided a status update on the sales of No More Heroes 1 and 2 on Switch. Both games experienced strong sales in North America and Europe, according to the company. Specific data was not provided.
No More Heroes 1 and 2 made it to Switch last October as digital downloads on the eShop. The games first launched for Wii a decade ago. The next entry in the series, No More Heroes 3, will finally launch in 2021 following a delay.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury frame rate and resolution details

A few tidbits have come in concerning the performance of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.
By all accounts, the main game brought over from Wii U runs at 60 frames per second in docked and handheld modes. With Bowser’s Fury though, things are a bit more complicated.

Bolverk Games has uploaded a launch trailer for Glyph, its open-world 3D platformer. Get a look at the video below.
Glyph is live on the Switch eShop in Europe. The North American release is set for February 1.

Reggie points to Switch as his “lasting memory” at Nintendo, talks the need for a hit after Wii U’s poor performance

Earlier this week, former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime participated in a joint interview with Jack Tretton and Robbie Bach, who were previously the leading executives for PlayStation and Xbox.
At one point, Reggie was asked about his defining achievement at Nintendo. He pointed to Switch, which has seen incredible success following the disappointment that was the Wii U.

Otome visual novel Steam Prison hitting Switch in February, demo out now

HuneX has announced that the otome visual novel Steam Prison will release for Switch on February 25. Ahead of the title’s launch, fans can download a demo now. Players can take on Eltcreed’s route until the “My Queen” ending. Note that save data can’t be carried over to the full version.
