Dark Screen Games has been seeking funding on Fig to develop Bounty Battle, a new 4-player fighter featuring a slew of indie characters. That goal was recently reached with over a week remaining. Having raised $30,000, Bounty Battle will be created for Switch.

Bounty Battle has a huge lineup of indie characters. Guacamelee, Axiom Verge, Battle Chasers: Nightwar, and Owlboy are just a few of the games represented. Along with twenty indie characters, players can also choose from ten unique fighters, “each with their own unique playstyles and combat abilities.”

Bounty Battle isn’t just about the characters. Levels will also be included from their respective indie games.

Watch a trailer for Bounty Battle below. You can also find the Fig page here for more information.

Thanks to Gwelan for the tip.

A Switch version of Night Trap hasn’t come to fruition thus far. Nintendo was apparently open to the idea, but quickly shut the door soon after the go-ahead was given.

Enter Nicalis, one of the premiere third-party publishers on Switch out of the gate. Company boss Tyrone Rodriguez has expressed interest in working with Screaming Villains to bring Night Trap to Switch. It’ll probably take some time for the project to come to fruition – if it even happens at all – but this is a hopeful first step.

Earlier today, Nicalis tweeted out a brief GIF showing Quote of Cave Story fame in a new 3D model. The idea here is that the model is being used for something, though we’re not quite sure what it is yet.

We all know about Cave Story’s ties to Nintendo platforms. This may not be for a new game, but it could still be game-related. Some folks are speculating that the model will be used for Brawlout, which has indie characters and was announced for Switch last week. We’ll just have to wait and see…

Switch restocks are starting to become a slightly more regular occurrence. At GameStop, you’ll have another chance to pick up a system starting tomorrow. This will be the first time that all of the retailer’s stores will have units on hand since the March 3 launch.

Thankfully, you can walk right in to GameStop and purchase a Switch without any extra games or add-ons – it will be the standard system for $300. However, bundles will also be offered online.
