Fire Emblem’s Tharja was set to appear in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS as a collectible trophy. However, it’s rumored (repeat: rumor!) that she was ultimately cut, as her clothing was a bit too revealing and would have forced the game into a higher age rating bracket – something Nintendo wanted to avoid.

Tharja was included in a large batch of leaked Smash Bros. 3DS photos – supposedly from the ESRB – back in August. Now that the game is out worldwide, it’s clear that she isn’t in any version (North America, Europe, Japan).

Check out the gallery above for a few photos of the removed Tharja trophy.

Secret Tunnel Entertainment has shared new details about Shapes of Gray. Primarily, we have information regarding the game’s Arcade Mode, which is showcased in the clip above.

Here’s the latest:

– Out on Wii U early next year
– Off-TV play supported
– New modes including Arcade Mode
– This has players trying to earn as high of a score as possible
– Do so by playing as quickly as possible
– At the end of each level, your remaining time will be squared, multiplied by one multiplier which reflects how many levels you’ve played without taking a hit and another which reflects your current health (x100 for 3 hearts, x50 for 2 hearts, x25 for 1 heart), and then added to your score
– No checkpoints or boss battles in Arcade Mode
– Play with the dual analog controls on the GamePad as opposed to mouse and keyboard
– The control scheme allows levels to be cleared faster

The latest issue of Shonen Sunday magazine has revealed a new collaboration with Shinobu Ohtaka’s Magi manga and anime adaptation. Players will be able to equip themselves with Aladdin’s staff in addition to Alibaba’s sword Amon (available as a broad sword). Capcom will also be including collaboration quests that provide the title of “Magic” and a Magi-themed guild card.

Update: Complete scores added.

This week’s Famitsu review scores are as follows:

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (3DS) – 9/9/9/9
Forza Horizon 2 (XBO) – 9/9/9/8
Divekick: Addition Edition (PS3/PSV) – 9/8/8/7
Chaos Rings III: Prequel Trilogy (PSV) – 8/8/9/8
Forbidden Magna (3DS) – 7/7/7/8
Convenience Store Dream (3DS) – 7/7/8/6
Tangram x Tangram (3DS) – 6/5/5/6

Famitsu scores have arrived earlier than usual, and are out today rather than through the typical Tuesday leaks. However, we’re once again seeing reviews with one missing score. Once the full leaks arrive (or once I obtain this week’s issue), we’ll update this post with the full scores.

Final Fantasy Explorers will be one of a few 3DS games to not make use of the system’s stereoscopic 3D visuals. Square Enix has also detailed how the game will control on New 3DS. The camera can be controlled with the c-stick, the ZL button is used for monster lock-on, and the ZR button is for summon monster lock-on. Players can also use the Circle Pad Pro with a regular 3DS.

Update: Clarification: this post actually comes from the Super Smash Bros. Facebook page – not Nintendo’s Facebook page. The post is also still published, and can be seen below:

The image above is said to have been posted on Nintendo’s Facebook page earlier today. It was intended to act as a recap for the past week, but it appears that a new stage was included in the roundup.

We’re presented with a shot of Kirby and Pikachu in a mine cart. There’s talk that the stage could be based on either Donkey Kong or the Kirby All-Star’s The Great Cave Offensive mini-game.

The screenshot definitely looks legitimate! We’ll mark this as a rumor just to be safe. For all we know, an official “reveal” could happen this week.

Thanks to Felix for the tip.

ZombieBoy details

A few days ago, DarKarnage Games announced a new title for the Wii U eShop named “ZombieBoy”. Only a couple of screenshots were shared, but the indie developer has since provided actual gameplay details to Nintendo Everything – plus a look at a pair of new levels.

ZombieBoy is a 2D platformer that tasks players with collecting brains. The game features aliens as enemies that use laser guns, though you can obtain brains from humans as well. Although the current plan is to include ten levels or so, this could change “depending on a few factors”.

In ZombieBoy, “you are the only zombie trying to get to the core humanoid.” You more or less become the root to the zombie plague. However, aliens will attempt to impede your progress as they want to take over the world instead.

All of ZombieBoy’s gameplay is focused on the Wii U GamePad. Miiverse support will be included in addition to potential touchscreen features.

A release date hasn’t been determined at this time, though Darkarnage hopes to launch ZombieBoy before the end of 2014. Development is currently ahead of schedule and there are only a few bugs to address. We’ll let you know when a release date has been settled.

It’s time for the latest Famitsu’s most wanted games chart! Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Persona 5, Final Fantasy XV, Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, and Tales of Zestiria are the new top five.

Head past the break for the full chart. All votes were cast between September 18 and September 24.
