Club Nintendo Australia adds Year of Luigi coin, Hanafuda cards

Australian Club Nintendo members can now use their stars on a pair of new rewards. For 1250 stars, you can nab a Year of Luigi coin. There’s also Hanafuda cards for 3000 stars.

3DS update version 7.1.0-14 out now

A new update is out now for the 3DS. It’s nothing too major, though the firmware has been brought forward to version 7.1.0-14. Today’s update, Nintendo says, provides “Further improvements to overall system stability” while also making small adjustments “to enhance the user experience”.

Cocoto Magic Circus 2 hitting the Wii U eShop in January

Several years ago, Cocoto Magic Circus was released for Wii. The “series” is now getting a second entry on the Wii U eShop, courtesy of Neko Entertainment and Bigben Interactive.
According to a listing on Nintendo’s website, Cocoto Magic Circus is slated for January 9. The game has players knocking out enemies with up to four other players. Three different game modes will be included.

Japan: Wii U sales compare favorably to PS3, PS Vita in first year sales

Wii U’s first year sales stack up pretty favorably to the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita in Japan. During their first years on the market, sales came in at 1,273,555 units, 1,219,474 units, and 1,074,621 units for the PS3, Wii U, and PS Vita respectively. Taking things a bit further, sales stand at 1,343,139 units, 1,341,304 units, and 1,110,333 units for the Wii U, PS3, and PS Vita after 54 weeks (Wii U’s current position).
