We’re quickly approaching the release of the Switch version of Yo-Kai Watch on Nintendo Switch – the game will be out on October 10 in Japan. Nonetheless, Level-5 announced a fairly major new feature today: online multiplayer will be included in the game. While concrete details about the online multiplayer haven’t been announced yet, it seems like you’ll at least be able to have battles with your friends.

Nintendo Switch

Last week’s Tokyo Game Show had a huge amount of games to check out. Just about every platform was represented, though some featured more titles than others.

As for Nintendo platforms, Switch dropped slightly from 144 last year to 129 this year, as did 3DS from 5 to 3. Wii U was finally absent for the first time after the system had two games on display in 2018.

Risk of Rain 2 is in an interesting position. It’s still technically in Early Access on Steam, but it just launched on consoles – including Switch.

Fortunately, Risk of Rain 2 will be getting the same content across all platforms. In fact, Hopoo Games has shared a roadmap as well as additional details regarding plans for consoles.

During the early days of the N64’s development, Nintendo referenced the console under its code name Ultra 64. Now all of these years later, a prototype controller has been found in the wild and taken apart.

Nintendo’s maintenance schedule for the coming week has been updated. A few different sessions are planned, all of which involve Switch.

As the clock strikes midnight in Japan, Nintendo is now a year older. The company turns 130 years old today having been established way back on September 23, 1889.

Nintendo is very different in 2019 compared to its early days of hanafuda cards and love hotels. The Big N couldn’t be in a better position today, as its current gaming system Switch has sold 36.87 million units as of June 30.
