Wii U update version 5.5.0 out now, removes Nintendo TVii

Wii U’s latest firmware update is now available. Version 5.5.0 is out now in all major territories.
In North America, the Nintendo TVii icon has been removed from the Wii U menu (and home menu). Nintendo also says that “improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.”

We have a look at another two images of costumes featured in Super Mario Maker. The Inkling Girl is above, while Pit is below.
There are still many outfits in Super Mario Maker that we haven’t seen as of yet. I imagine plenty more will come in before the game launches next month.

Sonic Classic Collection cut games/content, Crazy Taxi 4 pitch

SonicStadium.org has found evidence that Sonic Classic Collection for DS was originally planned to include more games and content, as well as concept art for a Crazy Taxi 4 Pitch.
The info comes via former SEGA Studios Australia employee Brooke Luder’s portfolio, specifically an image that includes logos for Sonic Spinball, Sonic 3D Blast, and Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine, all of which were never included in the retail game. Luder’s resume also indicates that video content was planned at one point. Check out the gallery below for more images.
Perhaps even more intriguing is concept art for a Crazy Taxi 4 pitch. No information is given on the proposed game, but the single image shows a cab driver jumping from one cab to another.

Splatoon Global Testfire making a return in North America, Europe this weekend

Update: Now confirmed for North America. It will be available from 3-5 PM PT on August 21-23.
Splatoon Global Testfire will be back up and running in Europe starting on August 22. At the following times, Wii U owners across the users can begin playing the demo once again:
19:00 – 20:00 on Saturday 22nd
19:00 – 20:00 on Sunday 23rd
09:00 – 10:00 on Monday 24th
09:00 – 10:00 on Tuesday 25th
15:00 – 16:00 on Wednesday 26th
15:00 – 16:00 on Thursday 27th
