The European Wii U eShop has been updated with Beedle’s song from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Nintendo is likely celebrating the upcoming release of Hyrule Warriors as well as the Zelda sale currently taking place on the digital store. As for North America, nothing has been changed!

Last month, there was speculation about a new Taiko no Tatsujin game for Wii U. This week’s Famitsu confirms the rumors with the announcement of “Taiko no Tatsujin Tokumori”.

We don’t have too many details yet, but we do know that Taiko no Tatsujin Tokumori will include 100 songs. The game will be released in Japan on November 20. It’s priced at 5,627 yen at retail and on the eShop.

Quaternion Studio is teaming up with EnjoyUp Games to bring “Rock Zombie” to the Wii U eShop. The game was previously released on other devices like PC and iOS.

Here’s an official overview:

What would happen if a concert of a female rock band was invaded by a horde of zombies? The answer to that question can be found in this videogame which combines classic gameplay from the Arcade Golden Age with modern 3D graphics.

Features:
– 20 levels filled with addictive action where you will fight all kinds of enemies, ride motorbikes, drive cars and much more.
– A terrifying story told through 300 comic strips inserted between the action sections of the game.
– Three awesome characters to choose from: Zoe, Sasha, and Crystal.
– A wide range of weapons, costumes and concept art, and loads of unlockable collectible material at the Zombie Museum.
– An OST that combines Hard Rock, Nu Metal and Alt Rock that will immerse you into a really dark and rainy urban atmosphere.

With the one year anniversary of The Wonderful 101 upon us, director Kamiya has just announced via the Platinum Games blog that they will be releasing a total of 127 tracks via iTunes on September 15.
They will release in two volumes costing $9.99 a piece or you can purchase individulal tracks for $.99
Here are some comments about the soundtrack from Kamiya;

“The sound quality is a step up from the music in the game itself, so even those of you who spent hours in the Sound Test are in for a treat. The theme song for the game, “The Won-Stoppable Wonderful 100”, has also been remastered. The game version of the track was edited to loop endlessly, so we got Hiroshi (lead BGM composer) to go back and give the song a fitting conclusion. The soundtrack is the only place you’ll find this version.”

“To give you some background on the music direction from my perspective as director, I began by explaining to Hiroshi that I wanted to use an orchestral style to capture the feeling of an epic battle. I imagine the initial impression many people have of the game is a bunch of cute characters frolicking around a colorful world. However, my plan from the start was to create a unique feel by having this light-hearted world juxtaposed with the daunting threat of a massive alien invasion. To do this heroic ballad justice, we needed an equally grand orchestra. A cute exterior with an epic and dark heart; you could almost call the game “a wolf in sheep’s clothing”. Of course, having this ferocity extend to the game’s difficulty may have deviated a bit from the plan…”

New details about The Great Ace Attorney are starting to leak from this week’s Famitsu.

While we don’t have a ton of information just yet, we’re hearing that the well-known fictional detective Sherlock Holmes will appear in the game. His assistant Watson will also be included as an eight-year old girl.

We’ll share more information about The Great Ace Attorney as new details arrive.

Platinum Games will be hosting a launch party to coincide with the Japanese release of Bayonetta 2 on September 20th. It will be a free event held at the Ion Cinema Makuhari and will feature Platinum names like Hideki Kamiya, Yosuke Hashimoto and Atushsi Inaba. Other Platinum developers will also be there to share stories from development, host a general Q&A, sign autographs and raffle off a few commemorative items for the event.

No surprises here, today Sakurai has another pair of 3DS screenshots again focusing on more menus:

And here’s the results screen. It shows what you gained in each stage, but you won’t be rewarded until you clear it all. If you mess up in the middle, you can lose some of them too. The fighter icons are special attacks, and icons like the shield are equipment. The icons that say Mii on them are hats and clothes for Mii characters. Icons that show characters on a stand are trophies, of course, and the coins are gold you earned.
