It seems like you won’t need to have your right Joy-Con always at the ready if you’re playing a game that supports amiibo on the Switch – the Switch Pro Controller appears to have NFC functionality, so you can easily scan your amiibo by touching them to the Pro Controller.

Europe is getting its own special retail version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – this “Limited Edition” differs slightly from the “Master” and “Special” editions being released in the US. The Limited Edition contains the game itself, a “sound selection” CD and the “Master Sword of Resurrection” figurine, all wrapped in a special box featuring the artwork that is found on the regular US version of the game. Here’s a video showing off the Limited Edition:

Mario Kart 8 is getting an upgraded version on Switch – and so is one of the controllers compatible with the original version. Just like the Wii Steering Wheel, which you could slot a Wii Remote into, the Switch is getting its own steering wheel-type controller. It seems like either the left or the right Joy-Con can be placed into the slot in the middle of the wheel. There are also two shoulder buttons located on the back of the wheel:

These pictures were obtained by Eurogamer at the Switch preview event in Frankfurt.

Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap confirmed for Switch

It was hard to keep the secret, but finally we can spill those edamame beans…
Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap is coming to the Nintendo Switch™ in 2017!A few months ago Nintendo contacted us. A reunion was held in mushroom kingdom under a veil of absolute secrecy, where they suggested we could bring the game over to their upcoming platform. Needless to say it was a unique opportunity and as soon as we saw the system we knew we wanted to get the game on it. We started working on it and well, HERE WE ARE!
The game plays fantastic on the Nintendo Switch! It runs at a smooth 60 FPS, the screen and colors in handheld mode are amazing, and it plays just as well in full HD when docked. We can’t wait to show you more!
In the meanwhile, you can check out the official console page if you would like to know more about the Switch (available worldwide in March 2017!).
If you don’t plan to dock yourself on the Switch bandwagon just yet, rest assured, the game will also be coming to other platforms! We will announce them as well as the game release date as soon as we are ready… and we’ve got a bunch of other cool news coming.
