In an official report, Media Create shares more information about sales on the Japanese market for the week of August 17.

Super Robot Wars BX was the big seller having moved 98,000 units. According to Media Create, that amounted to a 85.42 percent sell-through rate. It couldn’t beat out the first week sales of the previous entry in the series, Super Robot Wars UX, which sold 115,000 units in March 2013 (and a 70.85 sell-through rate). The difference with BX’s sales could have been caused due to a shortage in stock.

Overall, 447,000 pieces of software were sold between August 17 and August 23. That is 75.64 percent when compared to the previous week. Now that the holiday period of Obon is over, total sales decreased by more than 250,000 units and new titles couldn’t fill the gap. Media Create mentions that the decline was especially remarkable for games on Nintendo systems, like Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (sold 66,000 units, which is 47 percent when compared to the last week sales). Total software sales were also below 500,000 units for the first time in seven weeks.

Nintendo’s website features an updated boxart for The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes. We’ve attached it above.

Back at E3, this is what the boxart for Tri Force Heroes looked like:

The new one looks quite a bit better I’d say!

The results are in for Splatoon’s fourth North American Splatfest. Ultimately, the Decepticons came out on top in the Transformers-themed competition.

The Autobots had a slight edge when it came to popularity. However, the Decepticons side managed to secure a higher win percentage, which led them to victory.

We’ve posted the full results from the latest Splatfest above.

Year Walk has launched on a couple of platforms already, but next month, it will debut on Wii U. Simogo co-founder Simon Flesser told Nintendo World Report that he feels it’s the best version of the game.

Flesser said:

“All versions of the game have specific things I like about them, but I think the Wii U version is the best version for me. If you didn’t know about the PC or iOS versions, you’d think ‘this is such a Wii U game’. Me and Magnus from Simogo and Rob from Dakko Dakko, we like to design for specific platforms or specific interfaces.”

Year Walk will incorporate motion controls on Wii U, and the GamePad essentially turns into a censor. Flesser spoke about this decision decision, noting:

“We wanted it to feel as fresh and new as possible, and we didn’t want a simple put it on the GamePad and add touch controls – we wanted it to feel new. Rob proposed because on the PC version you use the mouse to look around and control the pointer, obviously you don’t have a pointer with the GamePad and we didn’t want to do the simple touch. Rob from Dakko Dakko came up with the idea of motion controls to control the cursor, then everything fell into place because you have natural motion interactions with all the different gadgets you find in the world.”

Year Walk will be hitting the Wii U eShop on September 17.
