Stray Switch physical

September 23: Stray won’t be digital-only when it debuts on Switch this holiday, as a physical release is now confirmed to be happening. Retailers have started putting up listings showing the boxed version. Skybound Games looks to be in charge of distribution.

Speaking as broadly as possible, it’s probably safe to say that video games are slightly easier now than they were 30 years ago. Of course, that’s not the case for every video game – plenty of modern ones ramp up the difficulty on purpose. This year, Microsoft really started to take the initiative to bring more of its Xbox-exclusive games to other platforms – and Switch certainly benefited. While rumors of Hi-Fi Rush didn’t pan out, the console did get Grounded and Pentiment. It sounds like Microsoft will continue this strategy going forward.

In a shareholders letter from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, he reiterated that the company will continue putting its Xbox games on Switch as well as “new platforms.” When Nintendo comes out with Switch 2, it’s likely that Microsoft will jump at the opportunity to support the system.

Epic Mickey Rebrushed update 1.0.3

THQ Nordic and Purple Lamp have issued one of the first updates for Epic Mickey: Rebrushed. On Switch, it should show as version 1.0.3.

The update includes improvements across the board. Purple Lamp made fixes to graphics, audio, and more.
