Do you remember your first experience with Assassins Creed? The inaugural entry in Ubisoft’s hit series was a driving force of the Xbox 360 and PS3’s launch – a bold new idea with ample room to innovate and expand over the course of a generation. Since then we’ve sliced and swan-dived our way through key moments in history, with a personal highlight being the swashbuckling antics of Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag. We’ve also seen a near complete shift in the franchise’s framework with recent entries Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which renewed interest considerably for current-gen console owners. With such a wide ranging suite of ideas, concepts and executions at hand, it strikes me as odd that Ubisoft have chosen to bring such a divisive snapshot of the series’ history to the Switch.

Capcom today announced that it will release Towaware no Palm on Switch. The love adventure game, previously offered on mobile, will launch in Japan on August 30.

We have the following details and trailer for Towaware no Palm:

Nintendo Switch Online

A couple of months ago, Nintendo and Twitch teamed up for a new partnership. Those with Twitch Prime subscriptions were eligible for up to 12 months of free Nintendo Switch Online access. However, it was split into two batches – one for three months, and another for nine months.

That nine-month Nintendo Switch Online code can now be requested and redeemed, assuming you took advantage of the offer on the first day. In other words, you should be able to redeem the second part after two months have passed. If you’re a Twitch Prime (or Amazon Prime) member, simply visit this page and click on the “Claim Now” text.

Limited Run Games has announced its next Switch release. Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight, which was previously only sold on the eShop, will now be getting a physical version.

Pre-orders go live on Limited Run Games’ website on June 7. We’ll make another post here when reservations are open.

A new update for Katana Zero went live today. Unfortunately, the patch wasn’t intended to be released just yet, and may even cause issues for players if installed.

If you boot the updated version of Katana Zero, a notice will state that your save file is corrupted. You’ll be asked if you want to reset it. If you don’t reset, your save data will be fine.

Developer Askiisoft is working on an official fix in light of the issues caused by today’s unintentional update.

Team Sonic Racing

Team Sonic Racing is off to an encouraging start in the UK. The game more than doubled the launch week sales of its predecessor, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. This is also the first time a Sonic game was at the top of the charts since 2008’s Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.

Here’s a look at the top ten in the UK for the week of May 25 (we should have the full, proper charts tomorrow):
