Nintendo to sell Tetris 99 at retail in Japan

Nintendo has announced that it will offer a retail version of Tetris 99 in Japan. The game will be available in stores starting August 9 for 3,148 yen.
All purchases come with access to Tetris 99 as well as the DLC. A 12-month Nintendo Switch Online subscription is also included.

SEGA has released a second behind-the-scenes look at the creators behind Team Sonic Racing’s soundtrack. Three pieces of music are showcased:
– Mother’s Canyon: Composed by Jun Senoue and performed by Sonic Adventure Music Experience
– Wisp Circuit: Composed by Jun Senoue and performed by Sonic Adventure Music Experience
– Haunted Castle: Composed by Tee Lopes and performed by Sonic Adventure Music Experience featuring Tei Sena on violin

Switch update out now (version 8.1.0)

The latest system update has just gone live for Switch. Starting today, Nintendo is offering version 8.1.0.
Like the previous firmware change, this one doesn’t appear to be overly exciting on the surface level. Nintendo says the following of the update: “General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.”

PlatinumGames has revealed some rather interesting origins for Astral Chain. According to director Takahisa Taura, the original plan was to make a fantasy game where players would use magic.

Game Freak: Pokemon Sword/Shield emphasize trainers going through their own evolutionary journey

A lot of what Pokemon is involves training and evolution. For Pokemon Sword/Shield, this will relate directly to the player as well.

Kombat League going live on Mortal Kombat 11 tomorrow, trailer

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios announced today that the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat League goes live tomorrow. The new seasonal ranked mode lets players compete against others online to earn exclusive in-game rewards. Kombat League will be offered as part of a free update.
