With Atelier Lydie & Suelle: Alchemists of the Mysterious Painting hitting Japan this week, Famitsu held an extremely lengthy live stream with tons of footage. You can watch the full recording below.

Breath of the Wild was a complete reinvention of the Zelda formula, and many past staples were either discarded or reworked. One example of this is the dungeons. Whereas past Zelda titles featured long, unique dungeons with and a particular item to obtain, Breath of the Wild instead mostly has a ton of smaller Shrines scattered throughout the world and a few Divine Beasts that are thematically similar.

Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma and Breath of the Wild directed Hidemaro Fujibayashi commented on Nintendo’s approach to Shrines and dungeons in the debut episode of the Nintendo Power podcast. We’re first able to hear from Fujibayashi, who explains that big dungeons would mean that players would spent too much time there.

Update (12/22): The Super Sonic DLC is now live around the world, including North America.

Original (12/21): If you saw today’s European Nintendo Download report, you may have noticed that Nintendo included a listing for Super Sonic DLC in Sonic Forces. That content is now starting to go live. It won’t be available in North America until tomorrow, but it’s up in Australia, and probably very soon in Europe as well.

Here’s some footage:

The Super Sonic DLC is free… for now. SEGA will make it a paid download on January 23. When that happens, the DLC will cost $1.99 / €1.99 / £1.69.

Eurogamer published a new interview today with Splatoon 2 producer Hisashi Nogami. Nogami commented on how long it took to develop, why it took so long to allow players to change gear in-between rounds, and creating music / bands.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 updated to version 1.1.1 today, bringing along an easy mode for Tiger! Tiger!, map improvements, and more. Check out some footage below.

Dr. Coyle is the latest fighter to have been added to ARMS, but she’s actually a new boss as well. You can see what happens when you challenge the Grand Prix at Level 6 or 7 below.

More:

Version 5.0 of ARMS was released today, bringing with it a new fighter and a new stage, among other things. However, on their “Topics” blog on their Japanese website, Nintendo has announced that 5.0 will be ARMS final content update. Balance patches will continue to be released, but presumably there won’t be any more fighters, stages or Arms added to the game.
