Nintendo on creating a sixth year of growth for Switch, OLED doing well, all-time high for third-party games

During a financial results briefing, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa discussed plans to continue growing Switch as the console heads into its sixth year.
Furukawa stated out by highlighting the different ways that the system can be played before talking about the OLED model, which is doing well so far. Some are replacing their older devices while others are jumping in for the first time. Finally, Nintendo will be releasing big games in 2022 such as Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. Switch has also seen an all-time high for third-party games on a Nintendo platform as there are over 6,700 games from these publishers through September 2021.

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has discussed the age of annual playing users on Switch. This comes as part of a briefing that was held for the company’s financial results today.
Furukawa started out by showing the graph above, “which is quite varied” and shows “diversity in the frequency of gameplay and the number of titles purchased.” We also see that “consumers continue to play Nintendo Switch in ways that fit their lifestyle.”

NERF Legends trailers introduces the game’s blasters

Nintendo president: no plans to focus resources only on Switch OLED

Like many other pieces of technology, Nintendo has been impacted when it comes to Switch and the console’s production. Yesterday we heard that the company will be making 20 percent fewer units due to the ongoing chip shortage. Despite issues with production though, Nintendo won’t be favoring one type of Switch model over the other.
The Switch OLED is Nintendo’s hot new thing at the moment having just launched last month. However, president Shuntaro Furukawa stated today during a financial results briefing that resources won’t be limited to that version only as its other two variations – including the original and Switch Lite “cater to different needs”.

With Atlus having just lifted the embargo for Shin Megami Tensei V, we’ve gone ahead and rounded up some of the early reviews.
The RPG is a bit of landmark title as fans have been waiting quite a long time for its release. Atlus first announced Shin Megami Tensei V during the unveiling of the Switch way back in January 2017. Now in just a few days, fans around the world will be able to go through the entire experience. It follows the 2013 game Shin Megami Tensei IV, though we also saw the sequel Shin Megami Tensei IV apocalypse in 2016.
