Nintendo has put out an official announcement recapping all of today’s news from the Indie World Showcase. We have the press release below, along with the full presentation.


When big games drop, GameStop often holds midnight launch events. That was originally the plan for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. But due to the coronavirus, all midnight events have been cancelled, which will impact the new Switch title.

Kotaku got its hands on an internal memo from GameStop, which states:

Nintendo will soon be kicking off its latest Indie World Showcase live stream. The event begins at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 5 PM in the UK / 6 PM in Europe. It will feature around 20 minutes of information regarding indie games for Switch.

Minecraft Dungeons

Minecraft Dungeons was previously announced to be launching sometime in April. We still don’t have an exact release date, though that may not matter in the end.

On Twitter, a message was posted stating that the team is working at home due to the coronavirus. April is still the target, “but we’re also re-evaluating our timeline to make sure we bring you the best game possible.”

Masahiro Sakurai

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai is again publishing a new column in this week’s issue of Famitsu. It’s actually a bit of a special one, as there’s a conversation with manga artist Saho Yamamoto. It’s also Sakurai’s 600th column in the Japanese magazine.

The full magazine isn’t available just yet, but as usual, some of the tidbits have leaked online. A major highlight is that Sakurai states that he had plans to present a new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighter to a publisher at some point, but it’s being delayed due to the coronavirus.

Bandai Namco continues to roll out trailers for One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4. Find the latest video featuring Eustass Kid below.

This week’s issue of Famitsu has the latest information on the Fairy Tail RPG.

According to the magazine, Gildarts Clive will now be playable. The Eclipse Celestial Spirits and Tartaros story arcs.

It was previously announced that Fairy Tail would be delayed to June. Here’s some tidbits regarding how Gust has used that time to improve the game:
