Update: Just to be clear, reader Craig tells us that after contacting the retailer, they explained that the price reduction was initiated due to a lack of profit from the stock and needing to make back some money. So this wasn’t so much a move to boost Wii U sales as it was to help out Asda.

Just as it did in May, Asda has dropped the Wii U’s price for a second time. It’s a pretty major cut – the Premium Set is now available for £199. The Basic Set, on the other hand, is just £149.99.

This isn’t a universal official price drop, but it goes to show that retailers are more than willing to host a big sale for the Wii U in light of struggling sales.

Precursor Games has announced that a relaunch for the Shadow of the Eternals Kickstarter is coming on July 25. In its announcement, the studio thanked the community for supporting the project, stating that it has been “a huge inspiration and motivator for us.”

Precursor said:

“Your feedback has been instrumental in many ways throughout the process of creating the new campaign and we can’t wait for you to see what we have in store for you all.”

Last month, Precursor unexpectedly pulled the plug on Shadow of the Eternals’ original Kickstarter. The company explained that a relaunch was necessary in light of “more support from our community than we had ever hoped for”, which paved the way for “new exciting opportunities that will make the game better than we envisioned.”
