It’s time for the latest North American Nintendo Download report for the week of January 6, 2022. The latest releases include Justice Chronicles, Theatre of Sorrows, and more.

The Queen & The Sea DLC for Dead Cells goes live today, and we have a new trailer to celebrate. We previously received a gameplay video, but the one for today is entirely animated.

Below is some additional information about the DLC:

New data from Famitsu has revealed that Switch sold 5.3 million Switch units in Japan in 2021. That’s based on sales recorded between December 28, 2020 and December 19, 2021 while factoring all models – standard, Lite, and OLED.

Switch performed similarly year-over-year. In 2020, the console sold 5.1 million units in Japan.

Project Lumina has announced a new update for Melty Blood: Type Lumina, version 1.1.3. It includes a series of character adjustments for the game.

A new co-op battle event has gone live in Pokemon Masters EX. This event is the Dragon-Type gear event, and it allows players to earn Dragon-type gear by completing event battles. 

New gear has been added alongside this event, including:

    • 3-star Dragon Bracelet
    • 3-star Dragon Pin
    • 3-star Dragon Bandana

DMM Games, Nitroplus, Omega Force, and Ruby Party shared the latest character trailer for Touken Ranbu Warriors today that highlights Tsurumaru Kuninaga. Soma Saito voices the character in the game.

Gameplay has surfaced for Pixel Game Maker Series Medium-Naut, a science-fiction horror action game from La-Mulana creator Takumi Naramura. We’ve got 18 minutes of footage.

Mega Aerodactyl will be making its first appearance in Pokemon GO, Niantic revealed today.

The company is gearing up for a new Mountains of Power event, which continues the Season of Heritage. Niantic teases: “Spark’s intuition leads him to believe that the mysterious door’s second mechanism requires the help of Rock- and Steel-type Pokémon to unlock it. Journey through terrain reminiscent of the mountains found in regions like Johto and Sinnoh, and work with Spark to unlock the next mechanism!”

The Nintendo Switch Online Game Trial program is still going strong, and Nintendo has announced that Golf Story is the next featured game in Japan. It can be played entirely for free between January 7 and January 14. Additionally, all progress carries over to the full version.

A sale is planned as well. Golf Story will be available at a 33 percent discount between January 7 and January 23.
