With New Year’s Eve upon us, Cygames has made a new raid event and Summon Showcase available in Dragalia Lost to mark the dawn of 2019.

The first of these — the New Year’s Tidings: Fortune from Afar raid event — has players taking on a series of quests to defeat a light-element raid boss and earn rewards. Specifically, those who participate can increase their Friendship enough throughout the event to recruit the event-specific character Botan. Blazons and emblems collected during the event can also be exchanged for the exclusive dragon Shishimai and the Luck of the Draw wyrmprint.

The raid this time around will last until January 9th, with players being able to claim rewards up until January 16th.

Likewise, the new Eastern Emissaries Summon Showcase will also be available until January 9th. This focus will include adventurers Ieyasu, Sazanka, and Addis. In addition, the new dragon Marishiten will be available alongside the Happy New Year!, Heralds of Hinomoto, Hanetsuki Rally, and Vio Rhyse Alberia wyrmprints.

Images of the adventurer Ieyasu, as well as the new dragon and wyrmprints, can be viewed below.

Fortunately, the physical release won’t be limited to just one region. Amazon and GameStop confirm the news for North America while Amazon UK also has a listing. The retailers list tentative dates of March 19 and March 15.

We have the boxart for Truberbrook above.

Dead Cells has been one of the most successful indie games of 2018. But if you thought that Motion Twin would rest on its laurels, think again.

Speaking with Game Informer, designer Sébastien Bénard indicated that a sequel to Dead Cells is unlikely. Bénard indicated that the team wants to try new things. For Motion Twin’s next project, you probably shouldn’t expect a platformer or a roguelike.

What up, kids and squids?!

This week on NEP, Oni and Galen discuss Nintendo’s 2018 efforts—the good AND the bad: all the games, free DLC, ports from Wii U, Nintendo Switch Online and more.
The gang also reminisces on some of their favorite games they’ve played this year, and end the show by explaining what kind of sandwich best represents NEP! Per usual, Galen is optimistic and Oni is pessimistic.

A little while back Famitsu published a Minecraft interview with a couple of the game’s key developers. Executive producers Roger Carpenter and John Thornton both talked about the title, including some Switch-specific topics.

Famitsu first started out by pointing out that Minecraft has been very successful on Switch, with the physical version having shipped over 300,000 units since June (around the time when the interview was done). Carpenter and Thorton both commented here, with the two stating:

Wasteland 2 came out on the Switch eShop back in September. However, a physical version had also been promised for later in the year – specifically this month. Yet December is about to end, and there’s no indication that Wasteland 2 will be on store shelves soon. Various retailers such as GameStop show new placeholder dates of December 31, 2019.

We’ve yet to receive a new release date from inXile Entertainment. As soon as we have more news about the situation, we’ll pass it along here on the site.
