Amazon has posted the boxart for Yoku’s Island Express, which will indeed have a physical release. We’ve attached it above. You can now pre-order Yoku’s Island Express on both Amazon and GameStop.

We should also mention that Overcooked: Special Edition, another game published by Team17, opened pre-orders this week on Amazon as well. It’s possible to reserve it here.

At the end of September, the HTML 5 Conference hosted a special session about Switch and its use of web technology. HTML5Experts followed up with Nintendo by interviewing director Munetaka Tsuda and front-end engineer Yuji Horikawa from the planning and production team. During the discussion, the two developers shared some very interesting information about the creation of the Switch eShop and the system’s use of web technology.

Tsuda joined Nintendo in 2011, and has been working on directions for network services, component browser, in-console software, and more. Horikawa joined in 2013, and has been developing the eShop for digital game sales and other web services.

Aka to Blue, a bullet hell shoot-’em-up that was released on mobile just a few months ago, now appears to be bound for Switch. An image was posted today showing the game running on Nintendo’s console.

It’s worth keeping an eye on Aka to Blue due to the developer behind it. Hiroyuki Kimura, who previously worked at Cave, is the boss of Tanoshimasu. Kimura started out at Climax, where he contributed to the likes of Shining Force and Landstalker as well as other companies. At Cave, Kimura worked on Akai Katana Shin, DoDonPachi Maximum, and other bullet hell shooters. He’s now the CEO of Tanoshimasu.

Fire Emblem Heroes is about to kick off its New Year’s event. It will feature Azura, Takumi, and Camilla in special garb.

Fire Emblem Heroes has updated once again with content. Players can partake in the latest Bound Hero Battle and summoning focus.

Here’s the official description of the Bound Hero Battle:

“Liege and retainer from Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, Raven: Peerless Fighter and Lucius: The Light are waiting in Special Maps for Bound Hero Battle: Raven & Lucius. Take on Hard through Infernal modes to get Orbs!”

As for the summoning focus, you can obtain Raven: Peerless Fighter, Lucius: The Light, and Priscilla: Delicate Princess. The first time you summon, you won’t have to use any Orbs.

Atooi has confirmed that more Switch games are in the works. Founder Jools Watsham sent out a tweet yesterday teasing at least three additional titles for 2018.

Mutant Mudds Collection is out now on the Switch eShop. 2018 could also be the year in which Treasurenauts wraps up development.
