If you’re having issues connecting to the Wii Shop Channel, there’s a reason for that. Nintendo has said that the service is experiencing technical difficulties. It’s unclear when the store’s problems will clear up. We only know that service has been impacted since around 1 AM PT / 4 AM ET last night.

Nintendo announced last week that the Wii Shop Channel will be closing for good in 2019. Perhaps the store has been reloaded in recent days as people try to spend their last points and prepare for the end in advance by redownloading software.
